Sarah Palin: Stand Up for SEALs Standing Up for Us
FaceBook ^ | March 05, 2010 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 03/05/2010 4:05:59 PM PST by Clyde5445

First the Obama Administration opened up the possibility of prosecuting CIA interrogators doing their jobs seeking information from terrorists. Then they tried to go after the Bush Administration lawyers who acted in good faith to protect us in the months after 9/11. Now some of the military brass are court-martialing three brave Navy SEALs for allegedly throwing a single punch at Iraqi terrorist leader Ahmed Hashim Abed. This is wrong. The Washington Times got it right: Save the SEALs.

These brave warriors belong in combat, not in the courthouse. They captured the most wanted terrorist in Iraq. We may never know how many other heroic missions they undertook on behalf of our country. The charges should be dropped, and they should be returned to their unit – with our gratitude for their service.

Stand up for the SEALs who are standing up for us!

“I read their charges”

LOL,,, You READ what the prosector said!! Well by crackey,,that settles it! Why didnt you say so??
Pssst,, Ever think those JAG officers might write it the way in their favor?? A lot of charges looked pretty dramatic _in writing_ against Sgt Wuterich too. But it was just more legalistic political BS. Put down your own mug of Kool-aid first.

More armed citizens than military, but they have the armor.

No,, you are wrong. It’s a case of good men, doing a good thing, being politically prosecuted to satisfy a military that feels the need to have attorneys involved in everything, and is too image conscious.

Everything isnt Abu Graib.

Good for Sarah Palin! This is more than most of our chickensh!t elected representatives have done! I am proud, however, of 2 at least from SoCal --Congressmen Darrell Issa and Dana Rohrbacker most recently.

It is astounding to see our government and the big brass eating our own! 0bama even wants to turn these SEALs over to a world court for trial, he is pushing the envelope in so many ways (like any tinhorn dictator) and daring US citizens to try to impeach him. He will hang himself before long.

The PC military rules of course should be changed, they are insane, but anyone who thinks that can be done thru a grassroots effort is dreaming. We can't even get the borders closed, George Bush only dug his feet in all the more at any suggestion of it post 9/11 and he made it more difficult by far to profile any ME people no matter how suspicious!

Sarah Palin, take a bow & keep speaking out!

I see, when a seal lies its ok in your book. You seem a little hostile to the fact that SEAL'S (OMG!) could have been caught doing something not generally accepted in the MILITARY, i.e. being dishonest to superiors. This was not the case with Sgt. Wuterich, he manned up and told the truth, all the time. There is a huge difference between Marines and these seals you are cheerleading.

How democratic JP. Call or write the SOCCENT or SOCOM PA and do your own due diligence. Also, you can find the charges online. You should also reconnect the brain/manners path.

San Diego Congressmen (Marine Col. Iraq & Afghn Vet) Rep. Duncan Hunter and Darell Issa backing the SEALS

Navy SEAL Prosecution an “Unusual Overreaction” says Hunter

For Immediate Release: December 4, 2009

Washington DC - In a letter to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates today, U.S. Congressman Duncan Hunter and several other Members of Congress expressed “grave concerns” over reports that three Navy SEALs are facing charges for their involvement in capturing one of Iraq’s most dangerous terrorists. A copy of the letter is available by clicking here.

“The decision to move ahead with the prosecution of these Navy SEALs constitutes an unusual overreaction by military command,” said Congressman Hunter.

“These individuals undertook a very dangerous mission that resulted in the capture of the terrorist responsible for the killing and mutilation of four private security contractors. They did exactly what they were asked and expected to do.

“The charges against these SEALs are unwarranted and should be dropped. Otherwise, the circumstances and daily reports surrounding these prosecutions will continue to create an unnecessary level of uncertainty among those who continue to undertake the fight against terrorism.”

Hunter, who is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and veteran of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, served with one of several Marine Corps units that responded to the killing of the four private security contractors in 2004.

No, its about arrogance by three seals (and their immediate navy superiors), political opportunists, and politicians (and the public) who have been misled or who are intentionally distorting the facts for personal benefit or to avoid punishment. Do you think it is ok to be dishonest? To violate trust?

BTW, this would not have been an “overreaction” if those involved would have acted like men, admitted to what they did or witnessed, and moved on. Instead, they are acted entitled, arrogant and above military rules and conduct.

You seem to have an anti-seal animus. But you are clearly wrong here. And you seem to have already decided that it was the SEALS that lied, not their Officers. It’s far more likely that the lie is being told by senior Naval Officers and JAG lawyers. That’s the safe bet,,,by far. It’s a shame our fighting men have to watch their back against their own leaders and people at home. The enemy is quite enough for them to worry about.

You sure seem to trust the commissioned officer corps a lot.

And the point about Wuterich is that JAG and his senior leaders told us that he murdered civilians. And that he lied about being shot at. The question isnt whether Wuterich told the truth, the question is that that his leaders and JAG officers were dishonest in their accusations. Same thing is happening to the SEALS.

And just curious,,,you seem very emotionally invested in them being torn down, and prosecuted. Why is that?? Why is that more important to you than the downright dangerous thing they accomplished for us??

Fine. Let’s first review the Congressional process that dispatches these young Americans into violent circumstances, and then later pisses in their boots when it’s politically expedient.

I don’t recall seeing you on the Haditha threads. Did you follow that shituation?

“Due diligence”?? As in contact the people charging them? As in contact their PC chain? Noooooo they wouldn’t lie!!! Especially while they were bending over backwards to show how fair they are to a terrorist saying he got hit in the tummy!!

They would NEVER ruin the lives of a few lowly enlisted men, so they are sitting on the “right” side of events when the terrorists lawyer gives the story to Newsweek, would they? They didnt watch Chessani still hoping not to go to prison,,(even though he did nothing remotely wrong)did they? They didnt realize that if Chessani would have called for charges, he would be sitting pretty today, did they?

No labusiness, it doesn’t work like that. YOU made the allegation that the SEALs lied; the onus of proof is on you. Present it.
