I'm a Southerner also and have many Black friends (my next door neighbors are a very nice black family and I even helped them find the house when it came on the market) and this really p!sses me off also.

OTOH, the opposition knows such accusation rankles and that is exactly what they are trying to do.

The best thing to do is just handle it with a cool and logical response (i.e. "are you sure you aren't projecting your own racism on us...we object to Obama and his plans purely on logical grounds...we don't like his policies!").
