Obama admits the unemployment situation in America is horrific

President Obama described the horror of unemployment in remarks on unemployment benefits:

" We need to pass it for men like Jim Chukalas, who’s with me today, and who worked as a parts manager at a Honda dealership until about two years ago. Jim has posted resumes everywhere, and even gone door-to-door looking for jobs, but hasn’t gotten a single interview. He’s trying to be strong for his two young kids, but now that he’s exhausted his unemployment benefits, that’s getting harder to do...We need to pass it for all the Americans who haven’t been able to find work in an economy where there are five applicants for every opening; " Where are the jobs, Mr. President?

It is true – Americans don’t want hand-outs – the people want jobs. Unfortunately about the only people who get jobs are President Obama’s closest friends.

I understand that Sam Kass is cool and a brilliant chief, but America doesn’t need a Food Czar right now.

The only jobs the ObamaCare and the Financial Reform create are federal bureaucrat’s jobs. These laws also create an atmosphere of uncertainty since nobody really knows what follows from those massive 5000 pages of regulations.

The unemployed Americans are filing their 1000th on-line job resume while President Obama is passing more regulations on business... The person filing bankruptcy after waiting for the Stimulus, for the Stimulus II, for the Unemployment Summit to create a job is having hard time to believe that moratorium on off-shore drilling will do it.

Unemployment benefits do not create jobs – tax-cuts do.

Yes - he did blame Bush:
“After years of championing policies that turned a record surplus into a massive deficit, the same people who didn’t have any problem spending hundreds of billions of dollars on tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans are now saying we shouldn’t offer relief to middle class Americans like Jim, or Leslie, or Denise, who really do need help.”

Drills holes in the bottom of the boat and has no clue why there is water everywhere.

And his solution.....need to drill some more holes to let the water out.

"We need to pass it for men like Jim Chukalas, who’s with me today"

Why do politicians still think that trotting out the Common Man Argument is anything other than idiotic?

Who is John Galt?

Cloward and Piven's worst nightmare. It does no good to overwhelm the government with demands for purloined wealth that can no longer be found.

And I’m convinced that the real numbers are far more dire than even this statement shows.

I recently had a job posted for a Project Manager for IT related projects. I had over 150 applicants. Of that number, at least half had enough experience to get the job.

Oh, the ole Clinton, I feel your pain.

Then takes another stab to your heart.

Ignorant voters.

At least you are able to post a job.

There are a few openings here, but I have not applied - too hard to be seen through the crowd. This winter will be no fun.

Not sure what’s worse:

Unemployment across America
or
Employment specifically at 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue.

“there are five applicants for every opening”

Pretty damnng statement from a sitting president.

Especially after he was handed over a $Trillion in stimulus money that was supposed to help create jobs.
