So how is that Recovery Summer working out for you, DUmmies? All indications are that the Democrats will LOSE big in November. The prospect of big gains by the EVIL Republicans is so hideous to the DUmmies that they are now fantasizing just the opposite, that the Democrats will be the big winners despite the lousy economy and general disgust with The One. You can see this fantasy for yourself in this DUmmie THREAD, "C'mon DU let's get over it and win both houses with a BIG majority in November." If this fantasy sounds familiar, remember the other DUmmie fantasy in which Al Gore was elected president in the Alternate Universe. In any event, at least half the FUn of this November's election will be to watch the DUmmie reaction...assuming that the site does not crash as it did for several days following the November 2002 election when the Democrats did NOT gain any seats in Congress. So let us now watch the DUmmies fantasize winning big in November in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, who came close to being covered in Spaghetti Sauce red this week when he picked up 820 bottles via coupons, is in the [brackets]:

Like many people I have been frustrated with things not going MY way like single payer healthcare, Gitmo not closing, the extended war in Af. and a slow move out of Iraq etc.
[Don't forget about the economy going even further into the toilet during Recovery Summer.]
However this government HAS made progress and actually has done a lot (although we don't hear about it on television). Many, many things have been passed by Congress to improve the lives of the American. People forget who created the financial crisis and need to be reminded.

HOWEVER, as long as Democrats left leaning (professional or non professional) or center people splinter and regurgitate RW Newspeak they have to think of the consequences of a huge Republican majority in both houses this fall. Can you imagine what that will mean to this country? None of our agenda will be progressed AT ALL and will be just tossed in a trash can.

I did not work hard for a center right prez - but that is what we have. If the Dems want to have majotiry in both houses then perhaps they need to remember who brung 'em and work to pass progressive legislation. Just a thought.

I will donate time and money to candidates who support a progressive agenda. If the Dems lose control of the House or Senate as a result of progressive flight, too bad. Not like they were acting on progressive agendas anyhow. Screw 'em if they can't take a joke!

You seem to dismiss the time we had majority of the House, supermajority in the Senate, and the WH. Still... nothing got passed. What more would you expect in the f*cking future?? Einstein bagels are not real bagels. To get a real honest-to-goodness crusty boiled bagel, you have to go to a neighborhood Jewish bakery, if you can still find one.

I know what you mean, but the Einstein bagels are still pretty good. It's hard to find an authentic, local, Jewish deli where I live now.
The problem is that the flavors of those "real" bagels seem to be limited. BTW, I purposely mispronounce them as "bah-glez" to my wife and her relatives so they call them "bah-glez." Even today I told her I was going out briefly to pick up "bah-glez."
I first heard that mispronunciation in Los Angles when a Mexican guy told me in Spanish about a terrific breakfeast food called "bah-glez." Curious, I went to the address he told me. There was a long line of Mexicans so I joined the crowd. Then I looked up and saw a sign that said, "Western Bagels." I suddenly realized what "bah-glez" were and still use that pronunciation. BTW, the cheese jalapeno bagel they had there was the BEST flavor ever!
The same holds true today, dummie. Still, the liberals want one or two (R) names to show "bipartisanship" to pass crappy legislation.

Hey DUmmies, the reason you don’t hear about it is because the normal American would soundly reject it. As a result your progressive agenda has to be done as sneakily as possible.

Let me count the ways that Dems, at all levels, have impacted my life, and it ain’t for the better.
1. Cable lobbyists forced HDTV, driving me to a subpar provider for more money.
2. Tobacco price increase to fund SCHIP, doubling the cost of my only remaining vice.
3. Outlawing HSA’s, taking control of my own health away from me and raising my costs.
4. Banning of smoking in bars in my state, reducing my daily enjoyment to relax after work.
5. Most recently, banning the us of the USPS for mailing cigarettes. Therefore putting my long time provider out of business and again doubling my costs.
I figured it up this weekend and the Dems have increased my costs by $115 per month and decreased my quality of life. This is before the HSA plan loss has fully impacted me. All dems should be tarred and feathered!

Yes, sir, it is about half the number of primitives that have been recorded the past five years, 4500-5500.
As for "why," I don't imagine the numbers have dropped just because of Skins's purges of non-donors; probably a general lack of interest (or fear and trepidation) from the rabid far left about the elections, the failed presidency of il Duce Bo, and somesuch, has discouraged many primitives. And of course there's the natural attrition; remember, the primitives are no spring chickens.
For your information, sir, the “high-water” mark of Skins’s island seems to have been in late October 2008, with 5,668 active primitives.
That was just before the election.
Why it wasn’t higher immediately after the election, or in January 2009 when all these wondrous things were to happene, one can only guess.
