Missouri Grade School: Singing 'Happy Birthday' Song is 'Insensitive'
Publius Forum ^ | 08/26/10 | Warner Todd Huston

Fox News Radio's Todd Sterns reported that a Missouri elementary school tried to ban the singing of "Happy Birthday To You" in order to be "sensitive" about those students that might find singing in public to be "offensive."

In a letter sent home to parents, school Principal Jodi Davidson explained that the ban on the venerable song was because, "singing is not permitted due to the sensitivity of all student beliefs."

As soon as outraged parents began to complain, our supersensitive principal reversed course and on August 23 sent a letter rescinding the ban.

Catch this lie being told by Principal Davidson to cover for her original politically correct decision...

These are the nimrods teaching your kids.

Someone that dim should not be allowed within shouting distance of a child, and we’re paying them to mold your kid’s little brain.

Good luck.

A society where politically correct considerations outweigh everything else cannot survive for long. Death spiral.

Since when is the freedom of the majority constrained solely for the benefit of the sensitivities of an individual or very small group of hypersensitive individuals. What about the sensitivities of the majority?

It is also subject to copyright. The school is liable for royalties if singing Happy Birthday is done on a regular basis.

Welcome to Modern America.

Well, I wouldn't place it up there with playing Russian roulette with a semiautomatic or bungee jumping with a chain, but it's pretty stupid.

“Islam?”

The only people I’ve ever heard of that find music of any type offensive is the Taliban. One sure has to wonder!

“singing is not permitted due to the sensitivity of all student beliefs.”

Not Christian beliefs because we all know the school systems have banned Christianity.

All union public school teachers know that the Constitution talks about "separation of CHRISTIANITY and state."

There is nothing in it about "separation of ISLAM and the state."

As a matter of fact, Islam IS the state.

"...singing is not permitted due to the sensitivity of all student beliefs..."

It's because Muzzies don't really celebrate birthdays.

They just play basketball with their NBA buddies and hang out w/Oprah while their chattel meets with the King's men abroad.

No, this time it’s the Jehovah Witnesses. They don’t celebrate birthdays, and the principal is married to a JW, so she’s very “sensitive” to it, apparently.
