Reid: 'I Never Said Iraq War Was Lost,' Angle is a "Liar"

You know Harry Reid, right? He's an incumbent Democratic Senator who is running for re-election in Nevada. He's facing Sharron Angle, a Republican challenger, who is currently in a dead heat with him. You see, I'm a little confused because there must be another Harry Reid who said the war in Iraq was lost, because this Harry Reid now says he never said that.

According to Reid's campaign site, Republicans and Sharron Angle have lied about his actual quote. On his website, they contain the "real" quote: "The war cannot be won militarily. It can only be won politically." According his campaign, he said that March 3, 2007.

What's more, Reid has taken to Facebook and Twitter to defend his comments, writing that what Ms. Angle says is a "LIE" (yes, he wrote in all capital letters) and that she was making things up.

Well, that's really weird considering that this video here shows Reid saying, quote, "The President knows, this war is lost:"

You know, I could almost swear that he said the war is lost. Especially during the part where he said "this war is lost."

??? Are they going by his whole statement or up to the point where he said the war was lost.. cut off mid sentence? Can’t win militarily, must be won politically? I hate this, when both sides use cut off statements, as he said she said. Its a lot different than saying we can’t win this war, so lets leave now. This can be touchy for swing voters, especially if the race is close. I wouldn’t vote for him regardless, he has more than 2 terms to his credit.

I agree. The Ad should start out with her quoting him as saying “This War is Lost”. Then it should show his rebuttals saying she was lying and what they claim he said, that should be followed by the video of him saying “This War is lost”. That should end the Ad with Sharon saying she approved it.

Not really. The vast majority of voters are rather stupid and have short memories. Unless Mrs. Angle hits them upside the head repeatedly with Reid’s own recorded words, they’ll probably believe Reid.
And of course, there are Reid voters who don’t care if this is a lie...
