According to two witnesses, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia took fellow Justice Elena Kagan out for a lesson in skeet shooting at his shooting club in Virginia last week.
The witnesses saw Scalia at the Fairfax Rod and Gun Club, where he is a member, around noon on Wednesday of last week. He was with a woman who was noticeably diminutive in height, like Kagan, who stands at about five feet three inches. The witnesses, who got a very close look at the pair, say that the woman was the newest Supreme Court Justice.
Scalia was bending down in order to teach Kagan how to hold the shotgun, the witnesses say, and the pair were shooting skeet. ...

And if the Supes had refused to enforce the 2nd Amendment in Heller and/or McDonald, you’d have said “talk to your own state’s elected officials?” Sorry, but I think your logic is off wrt Kelo. Kelo was unambiguously wrong under the 5th Amendment.
I don't either ... just mildly jealous. I looked at their facilities once.
Nice.
VERY nice.
But 'way out of my price range.
I joined IWLA instead ... (good facilities there, too.)
A great Skeet shooting range.
I got a couple of my few 100’s there with my over/under 12 bought for east coast quail and Skeet shooting when we lived in the area. I went there to re tool for quail season.
Beat me to it; dang it to the pits of heck!
No, I don't like eminent domain one iota. I almost lost my house and land (in Tennessee) to a private, for profit company (from Pennsylvania) when my local county "officials" decided it would be a good idea to grant the right of eminent domain to this company so that they could seize land for an unneeded and nonviable pump storage power generation project. Our then Congresscritter, Zach Wamp (R), was absolutely no help at all. In legal circles it's called "president". If you don't see the seriousness of this issue you likely will very soon. If they can line up, grant themselves special powers that don't exist in the law and very nearly take my house and land, along with my neighbors houses and land, they can do the same to you, too! This was well before Kelo, BTW......
Props to Scalia!
A lot of libs are curious about guns, but they’re probably afraid to venture into what they view as “the right wind underworld” without a guide.
It’s important to proselytize.
Even if ends up not being their cup of tea, at least they’ll come away with a better view of shooters.

Well, maybe Scalia educates another Supreme Court Justice...
At your link, below this story, there’s a link to one of Rhode Island gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio saying that Obama can shove his endorsement. Caprio is a Democrat and Obama declined to endorse him on a visit to Rhode Island. Or so goes that story.
The gun club I belong to has no running water and we generate our own electrical power. So, no there is no restaurant on the premises nor gun shop. That said, I like it. You run into all kinds of people every time you go. Over BBQ lunch, you might sit next to a tile setter on one side and have a surgeon on the other. And we have an ocean view from the pistol range. Heh. www.wcgc.org
Wouldn’t Al Gore be a more useful safety instuctor?
“Its important to proselytize.”
Yep. Unless we want to go the way of the dodos.
I’ve run our clubs collegiate marksmanship program for years - we introduce UCSB, Westmont and other college students to rifle, pistol and shotgun shooting. We’ve taught several hundred new shooters over the years, and by God, it works. If only more shooters would take their non-shooting friends to the range and show them a good time, this whole anti-gun nonsense would dry up and blow away.
The best way to convert libs into 2nd amend fans is to take themt o the range and have a good time.
I have done that with at least 3 of them.
No comment, but the word “target” does come to mind.
Did he need someone to hold his targets? Shw is just about the right height.
The place sure has a history ...
Looks a little more civilised, now:
Kinda like an Appleseed for SCJ’s, I hope!
Scalia takes deranged Kagan to de gun range, sources say
What is the solution then. I have seen it’s ugly side and know very well the tyranny of our elected officials.
If we don’t change the law there is nothing else to do.
I’d like to shoot at one of the nice eastern ranges just to see what they’re like. (Probably Talbot in MD, I have family there)
The Albuquerque Skeet Range has the best back ground IMO. Clear skies, and 50 mile views. A bit windy at times, but that’s NM.
