The Republican Mandate ^ | November 12, 2010 | Tim Howes

The unelected special prosecutor became the face of the GOP. He was an easy target. The GOP lost sight of fiscal restraint because impeachment had put our heads squarely up our derrieres. We never regained our focus. The GOP lost control of the debate, and as a result the public believed that we were more interested in marking Slick Willie with the Scarlet "A" than we were in governing.

Republicans cannot win against the rats on their personal sexual failings. The public does not expect dems to be moral in that regard. The rats are the libertine party. You can’t beat them by pointing out that their personal behavior is consistent with their political stance. E.G., Barney Frank’s prostitution and drug sales rings run out of his house did not damage the rats one little bit.

But this was especially true for slick willie. After Jennifer Flowers, the only people who even pretended to believe Clinton was not a hardcore cheater on his wife worked at NPR. And that was before he was elected. The public knew Clinton’s character and did not care. They liked the good ol’ boy anyway.

OTOH, I disagree with the article somewhat. The public is not just uncomfortable with the deficit. They have seen glimpses of the radicalism of the rats (Van Jones, health care, e.g.). The czars especially are an unaccountable and uncontrollable set of new-left radicals who are running much of our government. Hearings to rein them in should highlight the unaccountability and radicalism of this group.

Obama’s green czar has some incredibly unacceptable opinions. His “safe schools” czar also. The public already suspects this—but doesn’t realize that, to all intents and purposes, our nation is being run by a bunch of Rev. Wrights and William Ayers. The only reason they aren’t czars is that they are too hot and were too well known when czar time came around.

We don’t have to put them in jail to make sure the public knows just how crazy these people are.

Another area to highlight is border security. Most Americans don’t know just how preposterous it is. Hearings can highlight this fact with photos of the wreckage, of the non-fence etc.

The one area I would consider criminal stuff is in the justice dept. The radicalization of that dept. has gone way too far and DOJ officials have already lied under oath about the New Black Panther case dismissal.

Another reason for investigations. If you keep Obama’s administrative agencies busy consulting attorneys and responding to subpoena’s, they have less time to do damage elsewhere.
