In my last thoughts, Michael Ruppert said in his interview for Collapse that the earth's population stayed around a billion people until 1900 when oil was introduced into society, then our population skyrocketed to almost 8 billion people. Once oil is gone, the earth will balance out because oil will be taken out of the equation. Those who have the survival skills will outlast everyone, those who don't may turn into cannibals. It's estimated at current levels that we'll run out of oil between 2035-2055. I think the most important thing to do from here on out is to pass along the basic survival skills to our children so that even if martial law or the collapse the United States doesn't happen, they can be prepared just in case.

The only we’ll run out of oil is if the EPA becomes part of the UN.
Oil depletion? Cannibals?
Don’t trouble yourself with such thoughts. Teach your kids how to think for themselves. Invest in quality/quantity time with them and whether you live in the city or the country put your trust in God.
Supposedly by 2040 they will have cold fusion perfected. So says my dentist who’s brother or cousin or some such works in a cold fusion think tank.
if you listen enough to Art Bell (even now on http://coastgab.com) you’ll be able to divine what all this means and to it’s just a composition of half-truths & fear-mongering.
Nothing on this website even vaguely suggests of the goodness, justice and truth that reside within #1: The Declaration of Independance,#2: The Constitution #3: The reliability of America’s infrastructure #4: The Strength of the American People.
Be prepared? sure , i say within your means even for a thunderstorm but to the rest of this ??? BALDERDASH!!!!
Had me worried there for a moment when I began reading the article until I got to the part where it stated that we don't really have to "worry" until 2035.
Considering I just turned 67, this ol' Nam Vet won't have to concern himself with honing his survival skills as in 25 years, there's a very good chance I won't be around to witness this Armagedon. lol!
Of course if I thought I would and could find someone to wager with, I would bet that in 2035, we will have discovered 5 times more oil than is considered available and recoverable, today.
What a bunch of BS!
The only thing "Peak" about oil is the top of the pointy heads of the pointy-headed, moonbats!

There’s a Democrat way of looking at life, and a Republican way.
The Democrat way is that we live in a world of shortage and starvation, of rationing and deprivation, of misery and suffering, and that this is the *only* way things could be if we endlessly strive for “fairness”, because “fairness” is more important that anything else.
Only government can mitigate any of this anguish, and only if his has complete power over all things. But as things are right now, we, in America, steal from the rest of the world so that we can live lives of luxury, while we pollute and destroy the world in the process.
So we Americans are evil, and must be made to stop living like we do.
The Republican way of looking at life is that we live in a world of abundance, earned through hard work, which leads to growing prosperity and plenty for those who leave ignorance, hate and prejudice behind. We prosper because we strive, not for equality, but for equality of opportunity, and offer much to people to help them achieve their dreams. We do not see the prosperity and happiness of others as a threat to our own prosperity and happiness.
And we also believe that with hard work and ingenuity, we can overcome our problems and obstacles, so that the world our children and grandchildren inherit will be even better for them than ours was for us.
In practice, the Republican way has proven to work and build a promising future, while the Democrat way has had considerable success in tearing down what is good, and depriving the people of the tools they need to improve themselves. Now, with utter spite, it has mortgaged the future to try and prevent prosperity and abundance for generations to come.
Major league crappola. We will never run out of oil We have gobs of oil and coal for at least another century. Probably a lot longer.
BTW, it is "estimated" by whom? Is that sort of like "experts say" in an AP piece?
expert (n) One who pontificates with an inflated sense of self-worth, and is wrong about 95% of the time.
I’ll be so near death or dead by that time, I may welcome being eaten.
Yep, there's something good to be said about being old. (P.S., the OldPossum has three years on you.)
We will not run out of oil in the next 100 years much less by 2035. The earth makes oil as a by product of its existence.
Oh and let’s not forget that 1999 was doomsday too.
Excellent post.
“expert (n) One who pontificates with an inflated sense of self-worth, and is wrong about 95% of the time.”
I always thought the definition of expert was
expert (n) Someone who lives at least 500 miles away
although this might just be the industrial definition
