I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.

Bloggers excerpting their own material in order to
drive traffic (and hits) to their own blogs is scummy.

____________________________________________________________

Why? If they are conservatives and have a use for the hits why not help them out? Your crusade is idiotic.

It was literally a blast.

Pimps & prophets were turned away at the gate.

(It makes the clean-up easier.)

You truly aren’t bright.

We expect the posters to follow FR’s excerpting guidelines. There is no guideline requiring blog pimps to excerpt in order to drive traffic to their virus ridden POS MySpace page.

If a blogger posts their own material, key word OWN, they can post in full as normal, non-blog pimps supporters, unlike you do not want or need to visit their crappy page just to up their hit count.

You are also too late to the party to make a difference in any way especially since you are on the wrong side of the discussion.

If this is not clear then you are too stupid to breath.

We going to have a list of must be excerpted, can’t be posted, or must not be excerpted at all?

There is such a list.

Don't like it? Take it up with Jim. This is his forum, not yours.

Get a real, sensible policy after consulting with a lawyer and quit wasting everyone’s time.

Spoken like a true Democrat. We don't need a lawyer. Jim has weighed in on this and he tends to agree with us. Again, don't like it? Take it up with Jim. He sets the rules here, not some whiny n00b.

Way to go thackney!

I wasn't aware that the average pimp ever made it out of their mom's basement and shouldn't the prophets have known that they were walking into a trap?

You see no need to actually examine legal risk and come up with a sensible policy. Your feelings will not have much impact on a court case. What is your professional expertise Allegra?

What needs to be balanced is freedom of discussion, ease of discussion and posting, and legal obligations. Your “only Democrats use lawyers” is nonsense.

Robinson’s post makes sense. Yours doesn’t.

I’ll go one step further and say that the free market will take care of crappy blogs. They’ll cease, and the lunatics that continue on with no readership and blogpimp will be easy to identify and just bar as useless.

Strike suits are something that have to be watched carefully and excerpting PROTECTS against them. My view is everything should be excerpted.

Some are driven to extreme action by their mouth-foaming anger at being exposed as what they are.

shouldn't the prophets have known that they were walking into a trap?

The crop we have hereabouts doesn't have a very high success rate on prophesy, y'know! ;-)

You see no need to actually examine legal risk and come up with a sensible policy.

You clearly aren't grasping the issue here.

There is no legal risk in telling some blogger to stop excerpting on FR for the purpose of driving people to their blogs to up the hit count.

You keep going on about court cases and lawyers. Very liberal of you. When someone doesn't agree with you, you start making little veiled legal threats. Silly liberal.

Your “only Democrats use lawyers” is nonsense.

How silly. Blatantly misquoting me. I'm going to SUE you for that! ROFLAY

My view is everything should be excerpted.

But your view really doesn't matter around here. You're just a newbie whiner.

I disagree. The blog can sell legal rights to their content. That’s what’s happening already with the Vegas paper. There is no telling who actually is posting a blog, so FR has no control over it.

Allegra, I was thinking...(don’t laugh,) that if you change the BOCC to *BL(ogger)OCC, it would be BLOCC and Mr. Gunner would be the BLOCC Head.....

The blog can sell legal rights to their content.

If the blogger himself posted the content I doubt there would be much of a case, Perry Mason.

Besides, I really doubt that the ungrammatical and unchecked "borrowed"
content most blogpimps generate is really such a hot commodity.

Shrug. Doubt away. Excerpting solves the problem of legal risk.

If this is not clear then you are too stupid to breathe.

I'm beginning to think this is the case here.

But playing with the retread is keeping this thread out there. Useful idiots come in all forms.

{snicker!}

You are clearly on the wrong side of this issue as it is addressed on FR so why do you persist?

Obviously Jim Rob and the mods are not sitting with a steno pad taking notes of everything you post. More obvious is the fact that nobody gives a damn what you think.

If you are so certain that you are correct in your assessment why don’t you just sit back and watch the four horsemen destroy FR? Because it wouldn’t further your quest to legitimize blog pimps and their MySpace pages?

It has been made very clear that your opinion is only supported by the very blog pimps who are unwelcome here so why don’t you go start a pimp coddling forum and leave?

Or at least quit beating the dead horse you dragged up so late in the game as you not only haven’t changed a single mind but have in fact reinforced the anti pimp resolve of FR’s members?
