Here is video of Rev. Franklin Graham talking about Gov. Sarah Palin and her recent trip with him to Haiti to check on the Cholera Crisis there and to raise awareness about the tremendous needs there.
Graham praised Palin for the way she showed compassion to the suffering people in Haiti:
She came in with her smile. She would sit on the cots now you have to understand, a Cholera Clinic these cots have been soaked in urine and fecal matter, and vomit Cholera is a horrible thing and she just sat right there in the middle of it, holding peoples hands, talking to people, holding babies. It was an amazing thing. She is quite a lady, and shes not afraid to get her hands dirty. . . . She is a person that has a heart that has tremendous compassion for people. She loves people, and she cares deeply about people.
What a great testimony about the kind of person Sarah Palin is. Graham said that Palin has a very strong faith, and is a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Not as odd as making it sound like she sat right in the big middle of people's crap.
Roger that. But Christians SHOULDN'T engage in that sort of thing. It comes close to lying. And I'm relatively certain that lying is against one of The Commandments.
I'm not sure which one.
Thats my point - it didn’t sound that way to me and, I’d wager, most who read the story.
Let’s just say Mother Theresa you ain’t. In fact you are so far removed, you can’t imagine associating with such “dirty” people. And you think you’re conservative? I wouldn’t expect all conservatives to do the same but I sure as hell would expect you to understand it.
He didn’t make it sound that way, you just chose, for some odd reason, to interpret it that way. Normal people understood what he was saying.
Like I said, I don’t believe he was embellishing the story. You just chose to take it that way.
No he didn’t, what is your deal on this thread?
HAVE been soaked is what it clearly said....stop being a jerk.
Fair enough.
In fact you are so far removed, you cant imagine associating with such dirty people.
I do it every day, my brothah. I just gave a homeless guy who had his campsite ransacked a ride into town and gave him 20 bucks to buy some clothes at Goodwill. So there! Ha! In yo' face! I didn't say I sewed him new clothes, I didnt' say I gave him a ride on my shoulders all the way into town, I simply said I gave him a ride into town and gave him some money to buy some clothes. In other words, I didn't embellish.
And you think youre conservative?
No. I KNOW I'm a Conservative. I wouldnt expect all conservatives to do the same but I sure as hell would expect you to understand it.
You wouldn't expect all Conservatives to lie? Neither would I.
You’ve never been to Haiti, have you? I’ve got news for you. There aren’t many places where there isn’t “filth”. I’ve traveled all over the world - Asia, Mediterranean, Western Europe and the Caribbean. And I’ve never seen conditions anything like Haiti. And that was before the earthquake.
I know what he said. Here's his exact words, the second of half of which you conveeeeeeniently left out.
...these cots have been soaked in urine and fecal matter, and vomit Cholera is a horrible thing and she just sat right there in the middle of it,
Uh - didn’t Mitt’s dog’s diarrhea dribble down the roof and down the windshield - and MAYBE Mitt got some on his hand when he hosed it off that hasn’t been washed off adequately until this day!! Yuk.
If you have never been to Haiti, you cannot imagine the conditions that exist there. Soiled cots? You’ve got to be kidding me. You can’t walk anywhere in Haiti without smelling raw sewage. And if you do any walking, you will inevitably step in it also. Did Sarah know beforehand what she was going to experience? Probably not. No one can be adequately prepared for what they will see and smell in Haiti - least of all we Americans with our lavish life styles. But to her credit, she seems to understand the sacredness and dignity of human life despite the horrid conditions. If Dr. Graham’s account is accurate, I have nothing but respect for Sarah Palin and you should too.
so this thread needs to be about Texas Eagle and his dislike of Christians in general and Graham and Palin specifically - got it.
right in the middle of cots that HAVE been soaked...not currently soaked - but it’s ok you’re stuck on whatever gear it is you’re on.
I bet you tell kids there is no such thing as Santa too, ya grinch.
I didn't take it any way other than the way he said.
What is wrong with you people? He said she sat in the big middle of people's filth and she obviously didn't.
There was no need to embellish. No need to aggrandize what she did. No need make it sound like she's some blockhead who sits down in people's crap and vomit.
What she did was noble enough without throwing in things that obviously didn't happen.
The dashes were put in the copy for a reason - SHE SAT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHOLERA CLINIC.
Awesome statement
I love Christians in general. I are one.
I just have a pet peeve against Christians who find it necessary to make things sound more benevolent (or whatever the right word is) than they are actually are.
There was no need to lie about what she did. Visiting these people was noble in and of itself. He didn't need to make it sound like she waltzed in there and said, "Gosh. Is it okay if I sit here in your crap?"
Because she didn't do that. She sat with people who were suffering. That's good enough.

And what would you have done to that homeless person if he had turned out to be incontinent and soiled the front seat of your vehicle? Not to belittle what you did - it was commendable - but you weren’t all that tested, were you?
Oh no. He did say she sat with the suffering in the midst of their filth. That’s what he said. That’s what she did. That was his point - she has compassion. Clothes can be changed and hands can be washed. You can even be treated for Cholera if you get it. She was focused on bringing relief and hope to the hurting. She saw people - not filth.
