The Coupon Whisperer ^ | January 23, 2011 | PJ-Comix

What if I were to offer you $10 for every 54 cents you give me. Even better, to sweeten the deal for you, I would kick in 30 bucks worth of stuff for FREE. Sounds like a fantasy. Too good to be true, right? Well, guess again because that is EXACTLY what I did today many times over.

There is supposed to be a sweet L’Oreal Vive deal going on now at WAGS. With WAG coupons and manu coupons you get them free plus $5 RR when you buy $15 worth.

I don’t know what’s more troubling, Peej...your obsession with getting lots of stuff FREE or compulsion with amassing the largest ping lists in FR history...

Either way, sounds like fun. Please add me PJ. Thanks!

Here's an interesting ongoing thread on maximizing coupon usage, particularly to get FREE products in the end.

I saw you freepers participating on a thread about the food industry downsizing their containers, but charging higher prices for these reduced products, and thought this project of pj-comix might interest you.

Earnings? Nine dollars? Nope. Try a few hundred on this deal.

Can RRs be combined, or do you have to make 20 different transactions (Assuming 20 lots of 6 bottles of Maalox to yield "a few hundred" RRs.)? Also will Walgreens allow you to earn 20 RRs at one time or does one have to go through the line 20 times? Sorry to be a moron; just trying to wrap my head around the process.

You can combine the RRs so that if you want to buy a $40 item, you can use 4 $10 RRs. However, you will have to also buy 3 small fillers since the number of coupons you use can’t exceed the # of items you buy. The one exception was the Jingle Awards from last Christmas when they wouldn’t allow you to combine. Also you have to do one deal at a time to get the RRs.

Just did the Maalox deal. Only had enough coupons to do it once but I’m learning.

Lots of product left on the shelves up here.

There are a few tricks to get around this and it depends on how the coupon is coded.

For example, the Pantene deal using the 3 off 2 coupon.

The second pantene will count as a filler IF you use the coupon at the very end. Which means you have to know what RRs you are going to use before that coupon. If you don’t use it at the end , the register will attach it to two products. Well it might. I don’t know because I am giving it at the end.

Same with the candy bar Hershey BOGO free coupons that I am using. I use them at the end. They may or may not attach to two items if given before other coupons.

watch for the Free Trial pack vitamins that you can get with your Natrol Melatonin. Will count as a free filler.

I have a relative that has turned this into a sort o fpart time business. In addition to the nearly free stuff, she only shops at stores with store cards that offer bonus cash for purchases. She may walk out of a store with $50.00 worth of stuff which she only paid a few dollars store and an additional $8.00 in store money for future purchases. Then, she takes the non food and non perishable items and sells them at garage sales.
