Last night Frank Luntz from Fox News gathered a focus group of Iowa's GOP caucus to discuss President Obama's reaction to the protests in Egypt, but the most revealing part of the discussion involved Obama's religion. In the middle of discussing, one focus group member expressed her opinion that the President is a Muslim. Having one member of the group of twenty-five express this viewpoint is not a surprise. However, in the video to the left, when Luntz asks the group how many believe President Obama is a Muslim, 40% (10 out of 25) raise their hand. Even many of those who disagree with the statement have other suspicions that the President's religion is "liberalism" or some other ideology.
Some may attribute the numbers to Luntz's focus group selection process, but polls actually show that Luntz's group is fairly representative of the GOP population as a whole. One Pew poll from last year found that 46% of Republicans believe President Obama is a Muslim, though a much smaller percentage of the overall population takes such a view.
President Obama has always said that he is a practicing Christian. During the 2008 campaign, he gave his personal testimony to Pastor Rick Warren, in which he described his personal story of salvation. The President has frequently quoted the Bible in his speeches and attended church more than other presidents, like Ronald Reagan, who never attended church during his presidency. George Washington did attend church every Sunday while President, but never publicly professed Christ as his personal Lord and Savior the way Obama has. Despite these facts, as the focus group demonstrates, a large part of the population still believes the President is a Muslim.

This article says “despite these facts”....so I guess saying you’re a Christian makes it a fact.
He said the presidency has strengthened his Christian faith. But I don’t guess it strengthened it enough for him to allow his kids to start celebrating Christmas.

Obama , culturally never was an American as he carries many chips on his shoulder and as we see from his old culture at many levels. He feels for his Kenyan identity, he feels for his muslim identity developed during adolescence in Indonesia, and he feels his angst against white and America....DeSouza went to great lengths to detail this in his book.

All this brings on a interesting question... how can America have any struggle against Islam, or protect herself with the most powerful muslim in the world sitting in the White House?

In one of his books (probably ghost-written by his buddy Bill Ayers) he says that he'll side with the muslims over America if push comes to shove.
In an interview with a NYT reporter he describes the islamic call to worship as 'the most beautiful' sound he's heard...
In the Fort Hood shooting he refuses to point to out the obvious: That this was an act of islamic terrorism on American soil.

Despite his islamic tendencies, I probably wouldn't call him a muslim - but an atheist who sympathizes and supports the islamic world.

I submit that there’s no evidence for the former, but plenty - his adored father was a Muslim, his entire Kenyan tribe is Muslim, the stepfather whose name he adopted was Muslim, little Barry Soetero attended a madrassa and a mosque on a regular basis, etc. - for the latter assertion.
I agree with that assessment. He is certainly a Muslim sympathizer and protector, if not a covert adherent. So long as he shows disdain towards Israel and flagrant weakness towards Islamists, the perception will only increase.
Personally, I think he is a covert Muslim, based on his upbringing, his statements and actions. It’s certainly not an outrageous viewpoint.
