Greta Wire ^ | 7/31/2011 | Greta Van Susteren

...I just spoke with a House GOP lawmaker who told me he intends to vote “no” on the compromise. This lawmaker was present on the GOP conference call and quoted Speaker Boehner as saying both “We got 98 percent of what we wanted” and that “The minority leader’s on board,” which prompted this lawmaker to ask: “Really? Nancy’s cool with only 2 percent? She’s that stupid?”...

I've been hesitant to say it until now, but this is the last straw. It's time for Boehner to go. He just gave even more cover to Obama and Reid with this moronic comment. If he's dumb enough to say that, he's not the right guy to be negotiating with Democrats.

He pulled the number "98%" out of his wazoo aperture.

If solving the debt is a marathon, this bill moved us ten feet forward. Maybe.

He meant 98% of what the RINOs were willing to settle for.

This deal is a Ramadan gift to Obama from McConnell and Boehner. Disgusting.

“If the Super Committee fails to pass a balanced deal, President Obama will be able to veto an extension of the Bush tax cuts, which expire on the same day the mandatory spending cuts will go into effect.”

So the “mandatory spending cuts” don’t even start until Jan. 1, 2013.

The Democratic line is that without raising the debt limit, we will continue to face crisis in the future.

If I run up my credit card to beyond my ability to pay, increasing my credit limit doesn’t lessen the amount of effort it takes to balance my budget. The tough tasks in deciding what to reduce are increased in magnitude and number.

The really scarey thing is that most liberals really, truly, believe that the debt will never be paid off, nor will they ever be made accountable to answer for it, so they really don’t understand or value any reason to address the issue.

Serious question: Is there something else going on with him that nobody’s telling us (some kind of personal “issue”)?

This is beyond bizarre.

Have you ever tried to stop a freight train?

When have we ever had any conditions tied to a debt limit increase?

GOP.. I mean conservatives got nothing in this deal as far I have know.

1. Debt ceiling raises pst next election (BAD)

2. No real spending cuts (BAD)

3. Debt Commission/SuperCongress will be able to recommend tax hikes and if Congress doesn’t they slash defense and medicare - giving Congress cover to raise taxes(BAD) (not to mention Constitutionally questionable)

....

So.... what did we get from this deal??

I am putting my effort into the state GOP. The GOP controlled states are the only part of the party doing anything now.
