Obama 44%, Cain 38% OCT 25, 2011 • BY JEFFREY H. ANDERSON The latest Rasmussen poll of likely voters shows that, over the past week, the gap between President Obama and Herman Cain has swung 8 points in Obama’s favor.

In a poll released shortly before the last Republican presidential debate, Rasmussen showed Cain leading Obama by 2 percentage points in a head-to-head matchup (43 to 41 percent). This week’s poll, taken after that debate and after Cain’s abortion comments late last week, shows Obama now leading by 6 points (44 to 38 percent).

Among independents, Cain was ahead by 19 points last week (48 to 29 percent), but that gap has now vanished —

And which Newt will we get the Contract with America Newt or the Global Warming Kumbaya one?

Next to Romney Newt is the biggest inside the beltway boy in the race.

Or it could be Cain's electrified fence gaffe.

Or it could be the Cain abortion confusion.

Etc.

I am very sorry to have mislabeled you.

I named my weinerdog after Newt over 17 years ago because I was a big fan of Newt back then. Unfortunately, Newt has done a few things over the years that have soured my enthusiasm for him. The last straw was the commercial with him sitting on a couch with Nancy Pelosi saying that the one thing that they could agree on was global warming and the solutions proposed by former Vice President Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection. I almost renamed my dog.

This commercial came out after the climategate scandle. It came out after Al Gore's documentary was thoroughly debunked. It came out after Michael Mann's “Hockey Stick Graph” was shown to be based on faulty calculations. It was after the CRU’s Phil Jones was forced to admit that there was had been no statistically significant warming in over ten years. The solutions proposed by Gore's group were nothing but thinly veiled schemes for the government to take more money and power from the people. If Newt is so smart how could he have lent his support to Al Gore and his people?

I understand..but these are very small things in the whole scheme of it. He is a very serious man. We need someone of stature...Someone we and the world can look up to. I am not saying Cain isn’t a good man...but he’s untested. RIght now I am on the Gingrich/Cain Express...I think that would be an incredible team. I am sure Newt will be asked that question, hell..I’ll ask it, and unlike Perry, he’s smart enough to already have an explanation and be prepared. I’m going to go find his stand today on Global Warming..I’ll get back to ya!!!

He WAS an inside the beltway guy...not anymore. But when he was, he did some really great things. HE knows how to get things done in Washington...there’s nothing wrong with that. I understand about the global warming thing with him. I’m going to go do some research to see his position on it now. I believe we need someone of stature. Cain is untested under stress. Like I said above, right now I’m on the Gingrich/Cain train. I think that would be an incredible ticket. We’ll see.

HE IS STILL. Newt lost contact with regular people a looooong time ago.

Newt would sell us all out in a New York minute by making a deal with the likes of Nancy in Harry if it furthered his own personal agenda or made him some cash to pay on his Tiffany’s account.

We’ll have to agree to disagree.

By the way, what proof do you have that he ever made policy to enrich himself? That is just low and uncalled for.

Thank you Hildy. I will support whoever wins the Republican primary. I have heard that Mr. Gingrich has backed away from his previous position on Global Warming but I have not researched what his current position is.

I also need appologize a a second time to you and make a correction. I was mistaken about when the Pelosi / Gingrich commercial came out. It came out in early 2008 a year before the Climategate scandle broke.

I disagree with your assessment of Mr. Cain. I believe his executive experience in business and in banking and other life experiences do give him the qualifications that he needs to be president. I think that he has the most charisma and leadership presence of the current contender. His views appear to be the closest match to my own.
