Would Israel launch a surprise attack against Iranian nuclear facilities without first having informed the White House of its intentions? Thats a question to which Barack Obama would dearly love an answer, but dont expect Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to provide one any time soon.
Upon receipt of an October report by UN weapons inspectors that Iran was in the process of building a nuclear weapon, Barack Obama dispatched Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to Israel to demand an unshakable guarantee that Israel would not carry out a unilateral military strike against Irans nuclear facilities without first seeking Washingtons clearance.
But neither Israeli PM Netanyahu nor Defense Minister Ehud Barak would provide Obama with such a guarantee, instead telling Panetta only that no attack was planned.
The nation of Israel has survived the geographic nightmare of being surrounded by hostile Muslim neighbors through good intelligence, dogged preparedness and a no nonsense, no illusions attitude about the intentions of her enemies.
Though occasional liberal leaders have been pleased to undermine her best interests by catering to the whims of the U.N., Israel has endured.
But she now must contend with an enemy in the White House as untrustworthy, dishonest and calculating as any she has faced in the Middle East during her 63 year existence. And Netanyahu knows it very well.
During his visit, Panetta made statements worthy of a diplomat Judas, publicly undercutting the United States longstanding relationship with Israel and providing a sense of power and security to Iran and its terror-promoting leaders.
It is not a good situation for Israel, to become increasingly isolated and thats whats happening, said Panetta. Is it enough to maintain a military edge if youre isolating yourself diplomatically?
This statement makes Israel appear...

I couldn’t help notice the first word was “when” and not “if”.
As it should be ... (the last to know)
Pakistan philosophy in reverse !
..”all enemies , foreign and domestic “ ...
If Israel tells Obama first, then Iran will get the drop on when the strikes will come. Plain as that.
Just the headline gave me a laugh!! Thanks.
By the way, wasn't it Obama who said that America should keep its nose out of the business of other sovereign nations?
Israel would have to crazy to tell Obama or anyone in his pro-Islam administration anything.
Obama would, at least, warn Iran and could potentially join with Iran and other Muslim countries to stop the strike.
Obama has deep Muslim roots and can never shake his lifelong negative indoctrination concerning Israel.
Ain’t gonna happen. Obama is setting the stage for Armegeddon.
As should be.
Zero’s the worst thing for Israel - other than the Arabic/persian countries surrounding it.
The sheer arrogance to me is staggering.
Israel, in pure defence, MUST not allow Iran to have nuclear capabilities. Iran has stated that it fully intends to obliterate Israel, and has not given any indication that this attitude has changed. If given just one nuke; I would estimate the time between the weapon being classified as “Mission Capable” and “Launch” as being in the realm of minutes, not hours.
For ANY country to expect to be notified, before Israel once-again; is forced to take aggressive action in the interest of their continued existance - is absolutely insane.
I wouldn't go quite that far. Israel has to notify one of two countries of the flyover if they are going by air. It is quite likely that at least one Arab country in between would look the other way for that mission, and the Israeli government knows who shares a common interest with them on this issue. It's only Israel's true enemies that have to be kept in the dark: Iran, Syria, and the White House.
The Israeli are likely worried that Obama would warn his muslim brothers.....
And they should be.....
“It’s only Israel’s true enemies that have to be kept in the dark: Iran, Syria, and the White House.”
TRUE ENEMIES!!! In the White House especially you hit it right on the nose!
Historically, I believe that their policy is jokingly referred to as the “Jesuit Credo”
“It is easier to beg forgiveness; than ask permission”.
If Israel attacks Iran it will truly drop in the pot. Praying for them.
if I were them, I’d tell the WH a date and target just to see if Iran boosted its defenses
then I would stage a minor attack, report the failure, vow another attack with date and location.... using it to pull defenses away from my actual target
knowing you have a mole can be very useful
“During his visit, Panetta made statements worthy of a diplomat Judas, publicly undercutting the United States longstanding relationship with Israel and providing a sense of power and security to Iran and its terror-promoting leaders.”
And yet just last night in an interview with Charlie Rose, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said very emphatically that the Obama administration had proved its loyalty to Israel as much as any previous administration.
The common thread here is... Islam
Iraq will do what Hussein tells them and won't grant overflight permission. But, the Saudis will and they will provide logistic and probably tactical support as well.
If I was going to take out the Iranians command, communication, and control, I'd shutdown their electronic eyes, ears, and speech with some well-placed EMP strikes by Popeye cruise missiles fired from the three Israeli Dolphin-class submarines. Once the Iranian's C3 is neutered, then go after their nuke facilities.
While this is going on, it's time to wipe out the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank because they're going to be Iran's proxies in this scenario. Tell Syria to keep its nose out of things, or they will get what the Iranians are getting — maximum martyrdom.
