Panicked Romney Flailing Wildly as Newt Pulls-Out NINE POINT LEAD in Florida
Reaganite Republican ^ | January 23, 2012 | Reaganite Republican

Rasmussen just put out fresh numbers- Gingrich is up 41-32% over Mittens in delegate-rich jackpot Florida. Rich Santorum garners just 11, Ron Paul 8.

Insider Advantage also has a new poll out today placing Newt up BIG already (+8.8%) in Florida, this coming on the heels of an interesting Gallup finding: 'unelectable' Gingrich has closed to a statistical dead-heat in a November Obama matchup (!).  This would be the same Gallup polling organization who's editor-in-chief (Frank Newport) saw Romney's support nationally 'collapsing' even before his demoralizing SC spanking.

Others who make a living handicapping (and wagering upon) these things -like InTrade- have stock in a Gingrich victory in Florida soaring, now standing at 55%.

As you've probably heard by know, Romney has chosen to go
full scorched-earth on Gingrich in Florida, and already has surrogates Chris 'Krispy Kreme' Christie and Tim 'Dull as Dishwater' Pawlenty doing some of his dirty work.  But Mittens himself seems dour and embittered in the wake of South Carolina... like it's somebody else's fault he got his butt handed to him. He also seems lost when unable to simply purchase or order what he wants... Mittens has spent $7M on (mostly negative) media in Florida, and this is the result he's getting- ouch.

As for the much-ballyhooed Romney campaign organisation, they stunk it up in SC, and now the Florida staff is said to be freaking-out as he continues to slide in most any poll you care to look at. After being taken for granted and manipulated by the GOP old-guard for the last couple years, the TEA Party movement is finding it's inner Chuck Norris and standing-up for the right to choose a nominee who represents our conservative values... not those of  a spoiled, ossified DC elite.

The hollow, manufactured inevitability argument for Romney now seems dead-in-the-water, as caustic negative attacks upon the former House Speaker have for the most part backfired... serious momentum on the side of Team Gingrich has this backer expecting a continued surge in poll numbers in the coming days, most likely beginning with tonight's Tampa debate.

Every time Mitt talks at the debates and I ask G-d to expose him..he messes up. Did it during the "hidden mic incident" and did it during the last two debates.

Yep, G-d is messing with Mitt.

My only quibble with the article would be a descriptive preference for sissified rather than ossified.

Though ossified is apt if referring to the gutless RINO bastards having been allowed to ignore us for so many years that they no longer deem it necessary to offer even the pretense of same.

“Fox News: We Romney, We Decide

The Romney News Network”

And that is no joke. Fox has been NOTHING but Romney this morning. The interview you mention went on forever-—I thought Willard would never shut up. Then afterward, as Hemmer and McCallum discussed the primaries, they showed clips of Romney, but not Newt (with one brief exception). It’s blatant and it’s embarrassing.

Pretty crappy few days for Romney. He LOSES Iowa (no more historic two in a row). He gets POUNDED in SC.

Then...the Monday morning Rasmussen numbers show him losing big in FL.

Oh...and let’s not forget: Jeb is now neutral (no doubt b/c of SC/John King).

I’ll bet the FL Romney campaign stuff is FREAKING OUT!!!!

“Why does it make me nervous that Bain wants the presidency...”

Probably because they’re salivating over the trillions from We the People’s US Treasury that GS was given to play with ?

Just a haunch , mind you

If Newt wins the nomination, maybe Mitt will finally give up on his electioneering and realize that conservatives will no longer stand for stuffed shirts without passion. In spite of the ‘RINO establishment’ behind the curtain, we can tear that curtain down and get our country back.

There is no place to go at this point to get balanced news.

Conservatives need to keep Newt on a short leash, and Newt needs to keep slamming the opposition...it’s a long way to November.

I saw those poll results showing Newt in a virtual dead heat with Obama and just had to laugh at all the talking heads who keep telling us that Newt can’t defeat Obama.”

Is that a Gallup poll? Would you have a link for us on that?

That is Romney’s ONLY argument. If it can be shown that he is NOT better than Newt in the general, then...he is done.

(He might be done anyway. If he loses Florida, and thus goes 1 for 4, winning only Democrat NH...he is going to be hurting, hurting, hurting).

These numbers are now very similar to SC. The trend never shows up until 3 or 4 days after the initial surveys start turning. It looks like many now see the folly in backing Santorum, since Santorum has gone from 14% to 11, and Newt has gained over 9%. Romney is also losing close to 8%.

Newt will take Romney to the woodshed again, and the momentum will be nearly unstoppable for Newt.

And when Newt is on a roll, get out of the way. Let's hope Santorum is smart enough to figure it out, like Perry did. (Not holding my breath that “little Ricky” is even smart enough to understand it. He will cling to the rail till the last light goes out.

The new model is rather than one nominally ‘balanced’ MSM source one needs to keep and eye on multiple blogs, outlets, Free Republic forum, and Twitter accounts and sort the truth yourself from myriad ‘biased’ sources across the spectrum- or an aggregator/blogger you trust to do that for you.

It’s more work, but you definitely have more opportunity if resourceful than in the past imho

My sorrow in this is that I used to find that Limbaugh and Hannity were reliably conservative.

Hannity simply isn’t. If the Fox News link is forcing him to hold his fire, then shame on him.

Rush is being coy.

It absolutely blows my mind that they don’t simply announce on air that Romney is a leftist rino. If Reagan can describe the Rockefellar wing as non-conservative, then so can Rush.

Truth be told there will be a lot of liberals with (R)’s in front of their name pull the lever for obama. They are devoid or loyalty and honor. It’s all a one way street for this bunch of elitist globs of goat snot.
