Latest Poll: Romney-Gingrich Dead Heat In Florida
America's Conservative News ^ | 01/28/2012 | America's Conservative News

Mitt Romney has stopped the bleeding and Newt Gingrich appears to have lost some momentum from his South Carolina primary victory. Both men can take something from this latest poll to come out of the Sunshine state which shows the candidates tied at 35% each. Rick Santorum came in a distant third with 9% and Ron Paul scored 8% in the Dixie Strategies/First Coast News survey

If Newt could actually squeak this one out it would be a real treat to hear Medved literally have a total meltdown on the radio Wednesday afternoon.

Yep...the entertainment of Newt winning is worth it alone. If we are going to lose with Romney in the general we might as well have fun with the Primary.

Newt and Santorum need to sit down and have a talk and decide which one will be president and which one will be vice president. If they do not, we will have Romney as the nominee and 4 more years of President Obama. I do not think our Republic can survive 4 more years of Obama.

Most Santorum voters know he left for a reason and will feel ok crossing over to Newt. As much as we respect him it is time for him to unify the Conservative vote.

If it’s Romney, there will be buyers remorse extremely fast, as in before the convention. People will sit back and stay home, just like they did to McCain. Obama lite is no good.

Here’s my prediction, if Newt can pull out a win in FL, Rush will jump on board! You can’t win the 2012 election against Obama with a candidate that 70% of your party base hates and who effctively makes Obamacare a non-issue.

It is time for "We, the People," not the GOP Establishment types, to call for a candidate who has enough knowledge to defend the Constitution's protections against elected representatives from both Parties. After all, pure and simply, that was what it was designed to do.

At this moment there are 3 who appear to have studied the Founders in some depth.

It will be up to "the People," however, to hold their candidate accountable, once nominated.

Between the two mentioned here, Gingrich seems to be intellectually, and by a lifetime of study, qualified to craft an individual liberties, ideas-based campaign capable of exposing and defeating the "I-can-do-everything-for-you" enslaving ideas of Obama.

Romney displays no such study or grounding in principles underlying our freedom.

"Spending 25 years in the private sector" working and participating in the results of America's founding ideas does not, in itself, qualify one for defending the ideas that made it possible to do so.

When asked, Romney seems unable to set his answers in anything deeper than quotations from Reagan, patriotic songs, or familiar phrases from other speakers.

That kind of surface knowledge of the vast reservoir of ideas essential to liberty will not defeat an opponent who has immersed himself in the set of government-centered, tyrannical ideas to which he is committed and for which he has been mentored and trained to defend and cloak in a garment of benevolence.

Romney's offhandedness in describing the November 2012 opponent as just "in over his head" indicates unpreparedness for a battle of opposing ideas.

They spin it like Newt’s the one who’s lost ground when Romney and his handlers are in flop sweat over the prospect of even have a CLOSE race in Florida where he’s been campaigning since 2008! And to a guy who’s been given up for dead twice, yet managed a huge turnaround only 2 weeks ago just up the road a piece.

I’m no fan of polls but even less a fan of those who try to interpret the tea leaves in asinine ways.

Have faith in the Tea Party, the aging heroes of this land who still have freedom coursing through their veins. Unfortunalely, it is left to us to wage the war and that means whatever it will take to right the state, since most of our youth have long since been cooped into the camp of the enemy.

they are not really...most are showing Mitt ahead slightly outside the MOE

it's hard to say...the Romney-Media-GOP ESTAB-most pundits/talkies attacks have had their desired effect

90% of the public persons we call GOP or conservative will support a non conservative (at all) candidate because:

1) electability in their mind

2) these folks are not social conservatives and views people who are as rubes..like the left does

3) they do not want to lose access

I would weight all those reasons about evenly but it has become clear to me that most public faces of conservatism are not good representatives and do not reflect us.

If Romney wins, how he won will be as disturbing as his leftist views and cooperation.

So what? You need folks at crunch time not after you made the touchdown. All of conservative talk has been weak...they do not want to lose access or audience. Levin is the only one to really lay into Romney consistently but even he has been found wanting at times.

They all harp this better candidate crap...what a load. It's about Romney being forced on us.

At least Palin saw this as not making a better candidate but a warping of the system with the FOX-Drudge shenanigans

Since Santorum has gone home and left Florida are his supporters to conclude he has thrown in the towel? Ron Paul is still in the state giving it his best and honoring his supporters. Santorum has just thrown in the towel on Florida. Will his 9% support in Florida gravitate towards Newt since Santorum’s supporters may realize that a vote for Santorum now is wasted and his supporters want to vote for the not-Romeny candidate. If so, Santorum’s decision to leave the state is a decisions to free his supporters to vote for whomever they want to. Santorum just does not want to endorse.

The poll showing Newt tied with Romney occurred before Santorum decide do abandon Florida. If those 9% Santorum supporters gravitate to Newt that may be the edge necessary to tip Newt over the top.

Mitt Romney has stopped the bleeding and Newt Gingrich appears to have lost some momentum from his South Carolina primary victory.

Not so sure Mitt stopped the bleeding. Me thinks he merely slowed it down since he was suppposedly 9 pts ahead of Newt just a day or two ago.

Beware of the spin zone.

If Romney gets the nomination, I will stay home. Period, for the first time in my voting life. The GOPE can stick it! Romney is a TROJAN HORSE, Liberal Socialist, and the GOP does not want to even consider that possibility so they won’t even try to see Romney for what he is.

I would rather see this entire corrupt party torn down and ruined. This is the only way it can be rebuilt or fixed. It has to fail miserably first, for that to happen.

****Here’s my prediction, if Newt can pull out a win in FL, Rush will jump on board.****

You are probably correct. Rush touts himself as influential and right now - because the race is so volatile, he’s hedging his bets. Not principled - but a business decision. He is, after all, an entertainer. If not in front of the curve - Rush wants to appear to be in the driver’s seat heading round the curve.

That - or he has gone completely around the bend;)

As fast at this election seems to develop, just look at SC. Newt went from third, to winning in a landslide in just 4 days. Newt can surge ahead fast, and without Santorum in the picture, Santorum will drop into the single middle digits by next Tuesday and Newt will carry the slack.

In all Reality, Santorum is nearly out of money and does not have enough left to keep going until next Tuesday.

I only wish he would have been honest and did the right thing, similar to what Perry did. I firmly believe that Santorum may have cut a deal with Romney to take Newt down.

We have to appeal to Santorum and Paul voters to vote for Newt and keep this race going. Florida is winner take all. Santorum and Paul have left to go fight in other states. They know they can't win in Florida. We need Santorum and Paul voters to help us stop Mitt or other state races won't matter for either of them.

In Florida, a vote for Newt is a vote against Mitt, and for We the People. Mitt and the GOP establishment must be stopped. If you are on Twitter, appeal to Santorum and Paul voters.

Exactly. Like letting a failed company go bankrupt rather prop up with bailouts. Weigh our principles; is it better to support a man with no character and the GOP establishment or let them fail and try to remove Obama while in second term through impeachment or demands of the people he step down? You know if Obama has a second term he will be twice as radical.

Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge are buddies and she is sometimes his ‘walker’. This is coming up again now because of Matt Drudge’s war against Newt .. I remember the story … I was still in DC at the time …… Brit Hume’s son, Sandy aka Alexander, was a drinker who has fallen off the wagon and been arrested for DWI and tried to hang himself in jail …. He was released and went home and ate a shotgun

That ‘back pain’ pill popping weasel Joe Scarborough was more likely the guy who outed Hume and Paxton … but there has been lots of speculation tossed Newt’s direction given FOX’s stilted coverage of Newt

Did Newt Gingrich Out Brit Hume’s Dead Gay Son?

.
