In Full Campaign Mode, Obama Calls Out GOP as “Flat Earthers”

President Obama in full campaign mode today called out “Flat Earth” Republicans for not having vision. He referenced an advisor to Henry Ford who said, the automobile is a fad and the horse is here to stay. Again, Obama uses campaign rhetoric to show is incompetence in all matters economic.

The example Obama uses to point out the folly of the GOP is such a glaring example of everything wrong with the current administration’s view of that which drives a successful economic engine. Take the example of the car and horse; the late 19th century saw cities plagued by a horse economy. The beasts were essential to the function of the economy, but the waist they created was a burden, yet on the horizon a new promising energy source used to power a new form of transportation emerged. The automobile would stand as an example to the “non flat earthers” of a future free of horse poo. The problem; the industry did not exist and the infrastructure for drilling and refining was not there. It would take another quarter of a century for Henry Ford to refine manufacturing techniques to make the automobile economically viable as a full replacement for the horse.

Yet, put President Obama in a time machine and he would have looked about and decided that the answer to economic growth and the way out of the tough economic times that existed at the end of the 1800’s is no less than an effort to kill all the horses. In fact, no need to kill a horse, we could have just stopped producing hay. Thank God Obama and his enlighten crew of “round earthers” were not around for the automobile revolution or certainly the economy would have been destroyed before the first cars rolled off the assembly line.

The economy is not piano to be played by touching individual keys, it is not school yard where the popular crowd gets to pick which kids get to play. More and more our administration tries to pick the winners to manipulate the engine of our success by adding a governor of social engineering, or pulling the breaks on certain wheels while expecting the car to continue forward.

A healthy economy is more akin to well controlled camp fire kept within it’s bounds, regulated to prevent abuse in the system, and fed a constant supply of labor and capital. But within the confines of that fireplace, that fire is non-discriminate. A healthy economy rewards good ideas and hard work, if we start putting out individual parts of that fire, we are eventually left with wet coals.

Obama’s comments show that he has no understanding of the economy, and no understanding of history. To buy into his rhetoric, you have to believe that he and his round earthers alone know the future, that they can reach into that fire and pull out a winner strong enough to drive the economy forward while they dowse the flames of innovation.

Newt should challenge him to a debate on the subject. Right now. Don’t wait for the campaign.

"Flat Earther", a popular metaphor for dogmatic thinking.

Obama the marxist theorist who's in the midst of de-industrializing the most forward thinking nation in the history of mankind using the term disparagingly is so perverse its not even funny.

Flat-earther?

Obama is a believe-it-all unicorn fanatic who is p!ssing away our future with his utopian fantasies.

As a semi-retired investment banker (i.e. still struggling to stay alive) who has done more than a few venture capital deals, I can tell Obama that good inventions don't need gummint subsidization.

When a real idea hits the market...capitalists step all over each other to get a piece of it.

Obama's green revolution ain't so revolutionary. It's just a way for him to "dream on" and send some dough to his supporters in the process.

There’s one serious shortcoming in this analogy, and it shows what an intellectual lightweight the dirtbag in chief is.

If Columbus was wrong and the flat-earthers right, then Columbus would have sailed himself, his boat, and his crew off the edge of the world.

The difference is that 0bamas’ fantasies will sail all of us off that imagined edge. He wants to invest his future in his pimp policies, it’s no skin off my back. He ain’t my mastermind.

Henry Ford saw the absolute need and use of petroleum also.

YOU mr. 0bama are the adviser with less mental capability than that adviser for Mr. Ford.

Some one should remind Obama that the earth does not revolve around his head.

He calls us flat earthers. Fine. Our candidates should end their speeches with - “God Bless America and my BC is not forged!”

Mussolini said Italians were advanced enough to give up their freedoms. Both the Nazis and the Soviets were thought to be more intellectually advanced than hillbilly Americans who weren’t enlightened by Marx and Socialism. Claims of superior intellect are a sign of advanced liberal illness, and the inability to support an argument. ...Obama’s energy policies have more to do with mysticism and fantasy than reality. It is the politics of wishful thinking, the belief that new forms of energy that can advance mankind to the next level of progress will magically appear, if only we stop using oil. This comes from the same guy who was going to paint our roofs white, and put windmills and solar panels on every one of those white roofs.

Obama lacks the common sense, never mind the intellect, to understand how progress works. He can’t get his mind around the fact that cheap, available energy, like oil offers, provides us with what we need to develop new technologies. If there is another step in man’s technological development, it will come from wealth and creation, not poverty and forced desperation. Obama needs to grow up. His cradle to grave indoctrination to Marxism and leftist mind mush gives new meaning to arrested development.

Excellent analogy. Democrats attack and hamper the energy sector then wonder why prosperity doesn't follow.

Anyone watch an Obama speech lately? I know it's hard to do but I recently forced myself. Wow! His rhetoric is nothing more than an army of strawmen. "Some are saying," and "What's with the notion." ad nauseum, over and over. The crowd looked like they were held at gunpoint to be there while Barrack strutted and bleated, slashing at his imaginary strawmen. Using a tone he recently developed that I imagine he thinks sounds really cool.

I haven't listened to him in awhile but he of all people should refrain from attacking others as lacking vision. This dude is one pathetic excuse for a leader.

Why are we who will surely vote against O’bama forced to pay his campaign costs? Isn’t it illegal for a campaign to steal my money for it’s costs? Anyone??

Just to defend Obunghole for moment... Can you imagine the life that he lives?

He's married to a Wookie and lives with the Wookie's mother. He has two daughters with Chewbacka. The only other source of testosterone in that house is from the damned dog.

Add to that he is a homo, and a muslim, and those two are completely at odds with each other.

And just for the fun of it, the whole world now realizes that he is a mealy mouthed fool, and complete ignoramus, it's got to be tough to be Baraka Homo Soetoro.

I'll give him his props that he's managed to keep himself together for as long as he has. Most men would have killed themselves.
