The Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011 signed into law last week by President Obama allows the Secret Service to determine what kind of speech may be permitted in proximity to the President and other government officials qualified for Secret Service protection.
Most people are probably familiar with our role as protectors of the President against would-be assassins, said Secret Service spokesman Elroy Hood. But assassins arent the only ones who pose a threat. Vocal opponents damage the image the government is trying to project and can undermine its authority every bit as much as an attempt on the Presidents life.
Hood hastened to point out that not all speech is prohibited. Demonstrations in support of the government help advance the Presidents agenda. We dont want to discourage that.
To be on the safe side, those wishing to avoid arrest are advised to check in with the Secret Service ahead of time to have signs and banners reviewed and approved. They are also counseled to police their members to prevent any untoward outbursts in the presence of the President or other officers of the government.

Limit speech? Say what? Image of government?
How about a cup of STFU yourselves! Bunch of whiners.
OK, it’s testing satire, but my reply still applies.
We know what they feel.

Can’t seem to damage that image enough though.
Another good one John.
No, it doesn't. Unless the image the government is trying to project is: wrong, a lie, damaging to the country, in violation of the Constitution, promoting socialism, immorality---I can go on, but you get the idea.
Be careful, Secret Service, that you don't find yourself on the wrong side of the Constitution. Your authority comes from the people, not the president. Didn't you all vow to protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic? Think about it.
Almost!
One of these days you’ll get me.
In the meantime, your mind-reading is impeccable. You say what they would say if they could — and what they really think.
Of course they (dims and barry) say such crazy things I check the “real” news storied to see if it was your semi-satire. And, sadly for our country, it is quite real.
Wow! I can’t tell if this is Atlas Shrugs,1984 or just a commie regime stretching its legs. Whatever it is we surely won’t survive four more years of it.
“what kind of speech may be permitted in proximity to the President”
Better keep AM radios away from Obama...
I may be nipping a wee bit of the Irish fluids (Powers to be exact), because it’s so close to St. Partys Day but I’ll not be silenced by nobody.

Son its called free speech...
Actually .......
What’s really scary is that this satire could become true. I was watching Glenn Beck the other night and he interviewed Dr. Thomas Sowell. I have read and listened to Dr. Sowell for years, but one thing that he said during that interview really surprised and shocked me. He stated that if the Food Stamp President lost re-election that there would be riots in the streets, even if the election was completely above board and even if the margin of his loss were great. The more I have thought about it, the more I think he is right. Everything the administration is doing is to build up class and race warfare.
In fact, it seems perfectly logical for the Food Stamp President to decree that anyone who disagrees with him is guilty of a hate crime.
Orwell was an optimist. He never saw Obama coming.
This is not satire. This law was signed by Hussein. Anyone saying anything against him anywhere around him can be arrested on the spot and jailed and fined.
This is just the beginning. How long before we cannot write anything except praise of Hussein or we are arrested? How long before we say something that is reported by someone who overheard it, and we are arrested?
We are watching the book/movie 1984 coming true. If Hussein is reelected, will you feel safe writing on FR?
