ABC News doctors Zimmerman video to peddle false story in Trayvon Martin case

he Daily Caller has investigated the ABC News claim that police closed circuit television of George Zimmerman being brought to the Sanford, FL police station shows no sign of injury, in what appears to be an intentional effort by the network to cast doubt on Zimmerman’s accounting of events. Zimmerman claims he was forced to shoot high school football player Trayvon Martin after Martin knocked him down and began slamming his head into the ground.
ABC News blatantly lied about what the video showed.
“A police surveillance video taken the night that Trayvon Martin was shot dead shows no blood or bruises on George Zimmerman,” ABC News reporter Matt Gutman wrote, noting that Zimmerman told police “he shot Martin after he was punched in the nose, knocked down and had his head slammed into the ground.”
ABC News reported that Zimmerman appears uninjured in the video. But a still image from the video indicates what appears to be a vertical laceration or scar several inches long.
In fact, not one but both camera views showed that Zimmerman has a laceration several inches long on the back of his head. Any blood had been cleaned up by the Fire Dept assets that had treated Zimmerman at the scene. Bruising would not have shown on the low-resolution video.
More disgusting is the obvious fact that ABC News used a strategically placed chyron (graphic) to cover up the back of Zimmerman’s head for their broadcast, covering up the video evidence that would have disproven their story. View the video at the Daily Caller, and you’ll note that they did not even need a chyron, as there was no need to transmit any additional visual data to explain the story. The only logical reason the chyron exists is to cover-up Zimmerman’s wounds.
ABC News doctored the video to sell a false narrative, in a dishonest attempt to brand a man a murderer. I’d be very interested to know if Zimmerman can pursue legal action against ABC for constructing this false narrative.

Trayvon Martin Case: George Zimmerman’s neighbor says video doesn’t prove anything
....WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said the video is not necessarily a game changer.
“The video may not tell the entire story. Who we need to hear from are the paramedics that treated him at the scene, law enforcement testimony, as to their observations and any photographs,” Sheaffer said.
Sources close to the investigation said there is at least one picture of Zimmerman’s injuries at the scene.
It was taken by an officer with his personal cellphone.
One of Zimmerman’s neighbor Frank Taaffe told WFTV it the surveillance video does not prove anything.
Taaffe was at the Sanford Police Department on Thursday, reporting death threats against him for defending Zimmerman.

However, in a police report, Officer Timothy Smith described Zimmerman’s appearance at the scene of the shooting.
Smith wrote that Zimmerman “appeared to be wet and covered in grass, bleeding from the nose and the back of his head. He was placed in my police vehicle and was given first aid by Sanford Fire Department paramedics.”

I sure hope so. It would probably be settled out of court to try and cut down on the embarrassment to ABC news. The idiot Bill Maher used that video to convict Zimmerman on his show. He also had Van Jones on to help further his case. What a bunch of race baiters. Maybe the underage witness who was exposed has a case. I hope they sue the heck out of them.

He was feeling bad about not going to help the person calling for help, his dog got loose. (But he did have is sister call 911.) No wonder mom is going on talkshows saying he saw nothing. She has multiple children to protect.....Note comment on thread about gentleman at police station reporting death threats for supporting Zimmerman. How does one protect their children from these threats and possible actions?
Frankly it doesn’t matter if he’s found guilty.
Lawsuits are decided by civil rules, where a preponderance of evidence applies.
Criminal laws, require beyond a reasonable doubt.

ABC might just have stepped over the line. Bet they end up settling quietly, and pretty quick running rapidly back from this.

The faux video was topic A of discussion the next morning on all channels, PBS and the usual talk shows. It has morphed into conventional wisdom. The vid was so blurry that when they paused to show the back of his head, the cop with him appeared in triplicate.
Are copcams that bad, or might we have evidence of some deliberate tampering?
Next day, the usual suspects had to admit one of the cops was closely inspecting the back of George’s head.
If the 911 call is believed the first officer on scene (who had a flashlight) was described at black.
Matt Gutman an his producer should both be fired immediately, and anyone else who is found to have ordered them to edit the tape like they did, and whoever approved the package for broadcast.
Is there a place a person can get links to all the 911 recordings that have been made available to the public?
