Some notable moments in the recent Trayvon Martin coverage:
Jose Baez, who successfully defended Casey Anthony, was analyzing the case against George Zimmerman on Friday morning for CNN. Baez was agreeing with Professor Alan Dershowitz that the prosecutors probable-cause affidavit is very thin. Neighborhood Watch volunteer Zimmerman has said he shot Trayvon in self-defense.
On MSNBCs Hardball, Dershowitz said of the affidavit: Its irresponsible and unethical, and not including the material that favors the defendant, unless its not true. But if its true, as we now have learned from other information, that the grass stains are in back of Zimmermans shirt, that there were bruises on his head, you must put that in an affidavit. The affidavit has to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Dershowitz also said that everything in the affidavit is consistent with a defense of self-defense. A good judge will throw this out, Dershowitz said....

Judges are powerful and influential people. I have seen first hand what happens when you threaten one. They will move heaven and earth to get you prosecuted when it involves them. Others, not so zealous about.
It would behoove the NBPP and their associated ilk to remember this. If they make threats against the judge, their will be host of LE to protect the judge.
I don’t see how this gets passed the pre-trial.

Witnesses
reportedly videotape from the 7-11 may confirm that . . .
Reportedly Zimmerman was active in a pro-black demonstration or something. And on top of that, Zimmerman is a Democrat. If the prosecutor is alleging racial animus on no more than what I heard on the 911 tape, and in the teeth of contrary evidence from the Zimmermans past, it would take a very biased, and or very scared, jury to buy that.Right in the teeth of his indictment, I would see Zimmerman suing NBC - indeed, all of journalism, embodied in the Associated Press - over the biased reporting of this case which has made it a cause, endangering peoples lives. He would IMHO have a case against NBC even if he is ultimately found culpable in the shooting of Trevon Martin.
Yes. At this point, I think what's happened is that Angela Corey intentionally overcharged Zimmerman with Second Degree Murder (which is unethical for a prosecutor) as leverage to get him to plead to a lesser charge.
All of the sweetness displayed by Zimmerman's new attorney, Mark O'Mara, toward Corey (rather than attacking the political nature of the charge, or beginning to lay out his client's defense in public) suggests those conversations may already be taking place, in my fleeting current opinion . . .
