The Conservative Movement Is Run Over and Conservative Media Sits and Stares

Gingrich and Paul supporters still trying to keep conservatism alive are being molested by fake conservatives.

Two headlines prove what I’ve been saying all along about Santorum, Cain and their supporters. Not only are they not patriots, no conservative should look to them to lead our movement anymore.

Cain has decided to jump Newt’s ship and endorse Romney and Santorum has said he won’t release his delegates so he has some “impact” at the GOP convention.

These are selfish, self-promoting politicians who care more about their own ego’s than the United States of America. Or the conservative movement.

And frankly, why should we be surprised?

Good call on Santorum's part. A released delegate can vote Romney in the first round, which is not what I want to see happen. Rick Santorum should keep his delegates as long as possible and do what he can to stop Romney or (if possible, and I can't imagine this being successful) limit the damage of a Romney nomination. As for Cain endorsing Romney, no one who endorses Romney will ever get a donation from me, and I will be far less willing to vote for Romney supporters in the future.

I believe I heard that if Santorum releases his delegates now, his bills for the campaign would be payable now.

Maybe Newt could cut the stuffed elephant and private planes and help Santorum pay off his debt.

There is no conservative media, there are a few conservative radio hosts and columnists - that’s it.

Why change the path that has been cleared by the GOPe when the “conservative” party can be competitive by presenting a liberal hack that even 0bama can be proud of?

Well, this Santorum supporter cries BS at your characterization of his supporters (the fact that you think Gingrich is conservative is amusing), I DO agree with you that there is no Conservative leadership and the GOP just uses us. The sad part? We keep playing along year in and year out, i.e. “I’ll hold my nose and vote for ...”

As long as we keep doing that, why on Earth should we expect a different result? So here we are, trying to find any ray of good news we can, wondering why on Earth Obama is on the road to slaughter Romney, as the GOP elite chuckle at our stupidity.

Is there still a conservative movement?

I get that there was the tea party a few years back, but that was more of a grassroots upsurge that didn't have much to do with politicians or institutions, so it would be misguided to think that politicians or think tanks or magazines or movement "leaders" were going to pursue a tea party agenda.

This is about the hundredth dumb PolitiJim post I’ve seen here, although I’ve refrained from commenting on the earlier ones.

They can be summarized by, “Support my candidate, Newt, or I’ll hurl insults at you!”

Yeah, that’s a really smart way to persuade people to back your candidate.

All politicians are selfish self promoters. That’s why it is dangerous to hold them on a pedestal or assign some morality to them that we wish they had. But nobody runs for President without fully believing that the country cant survive without them. We saw it with Obama, we have seen it with some of the Palin supporters, and we will see it again. They put everything into believing that the politician really is “of the people” and when they get burned, it gets ugly. Someone really intelligent once wrote “there is nothing new under the sun.” And that is right. Once people realize that all politicians are naturally self obsessed, it makes voting a lot easier.

I took all of Newt’s transgressions and stacked them against Romneycare. Romneycare is 20 times worse.

“Newt and Pelosi on a couch “

Pussy. If that bothers you grow the Hell up. People do things for various reasons, just because someone sits on a couch next to someone else doesn’t mean they believe in their politics.

Gingrich was never pro-abortion, and endorsing a presidential candidate who’s official platform was to make the GOP a pro-abortion party, and remove pro-life from the party platform, Santorum was.

Newt is far more the Environmentalist than Pelosi will ever be. He is solidly liberal Democrat when it comes to Environmentalism. It was more than just symbolic that Gingrich was siting "left of Pelosi" on that couch. When it comes to environmentalism, he is left of Pelosi.

Whenever I think of Gingrich, this picture ALWAYS comes to mind. If he is still a true conservative then I'm a giraffe.

Yeah. All of them left have done things that are not conservative. The good ones got maligned by fake conservatives. And that was Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint, and various others. Looks they aren’t perfect and everyone has different opinions as to what they want and what they consider good. But if Cain and Bachmann endorse Romney at this point, it is still too early. But they probably are worried about Obama winning. They are being put in the uncomfortable position as we are. I am sure of it. The bigger question is why did Cain flame out and why did Bachmann never gain traction....they were the two best of the field with Santorum third or even fourth.

The republican establishment is counting on conservatives to vote for the lesser of two evils and help elect a RINO. It is a real shame that such a large segment of society has only a few voices speaking for it in places of power. I think the republican party will have to change or it will eventually lose its conservative base.
