Don't you just love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning?
Having criticized her Republican opponent for voting against a millionaires' tax measure, U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren said here Friday that she opted not to pay a voluntary higher tax rate in Massachusetts."I paid my taxes, and I did not make a charitable contribution to the state," Warren, who worked with the Obama administration to create the new consumer financial protection bureau, said when asked if she paid a 5.85 percent state income tax instead of the standard 5.3 percent -- a choice given to Massachusetts taxpayers.
I see. So let me get this straight. If a rich person feels more money should be going into the treasury of the state it should NOT be a voluntary contribution, instead it MUST be a forced tax. Meanwhile she wants to be elected into a position where she will force more money into the treasury by raising taxes, which then gives her more power to spend spend and spend some more like a good little liberal

I have no respect for people who tell others what to do when they don’t lead by example. John Kerry and his yacht come to mind.
I love my morning coffee with a dash of liberal hyprocrisy!
I'm sure she feels that nobody should have to voluntarily give to the government, after all she IS a dimocrat so no doubt she is more comfortable with the idea of the taking of ones wealth rather than allowing the giving of wealth by one.
Those Hitlers and Stalin's cannot hold candle to the American liberal, witness the Holocaust of abortion.
Yes, let these rich and liberal progressive folk supporting the “Warren Buffet Tax” voluntarily apply it retroactively to their income.
Professor War-Hen,
Since you seem to believe everyone should pay the same tax rate with few exemptions on the state level, do you believe everyone should pay the same tax rate with few exemptions at the federal level?
If not, why not?
If so, what should the single rate be?
A curious taxpayer
If liberals were as tight with other people’s money as they are with their own, we would balance the budget in 6 mos.
Pray for America
DemocRATS love higher taxes just as long as THEY aren’t forced to pay them.
All government employees at every level should pay a minimum of 75% tax if they want to pass monopoly money around to one another so be it.
Hey, libtards love confiscatory taxation and with the attitude that the ends justify the means and might makes right, they don't care about violation of those pesky natural rights.
What a leader....
She has run a worse campaign than Marcia Coakley did against Scott Brown and still she will either win or lose by a very slim margin to Brown
Having criticized her Republican opponent for voting against a millionaires' tax measure, U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren said here Friday that she opted not to pay a voluntary higher tax rate in Massachusetts.I'm sure the media will be all over her about this. Yeah, it took me five minutes to type that, between uncontrollable paroxysms of laughter.
John Kerry didn’t pay the Higher Rate either. He was too busy getting the City of Boston to move a Fire Hydrant located in front of his opulent Townhouse moved so he could park his Evil SUV there.
She didn’t get her degree on her own. No sir. She owes all of us for funding the police system because it prevented the wandering hordes from interrupting her studies at Harvard. Plus she may very well have worn underwear during those days, but I am guessing. She owes the underwear maker something for her degree, to the extent she wore any. And the factory who made her shoes. Nobody gets there on their own. Meanwhile, she is enormously in touch with the common man/woman, with her $400K salary.
IIRC, most of her donations are from out of state.
Speaking of fire hydrants, a Howie Carr caller (texter?) commented on this video - http://howiecarr.us/2012/04/18/grannys-mansion/ - wondering if she’s elected senator, how long it will take her to have her fire hydrant moved.
