I admit, "respect" is a term used very loosely here.
I was perpetually pessimistic about ObamaCare's reversal...but I wasn't watching the other hand. I would have NEVER guessed who the law's savior would be...
Roberts doesn’t deserve an ounce of respect.
That alone should have disqualified him from consideration. I trust no lawyer or Judge who spent time in an ivy league school.

The only thing that can protect us now is the election, and the Constitution was supposed to prevent our rights being up for grabs with every election cycle.
The only other possibility is that the states that sued nullify the act on their territory and threaten to arrest any Federal official who tries to enforce it.

The court has basically said that if we want freedom, we need to elect people who stand for freedom. The democrats won this battle, but it might put them closer to losing the war.

you know what is so excruciatingly infuriating is that the news stories all said how Roberts was trying to enhance his reputation by not having 5-4 decisions.

Roberts called Obama a liar.
Obama repeatedly insisted the mandate was not a tax. Roberts says, oh yes it is.
Congress can impose taxes. Congress can also repeal them. We elect congress.
Roberts also essentially said Congress and the President are free to pass stupid laws. Money quote from his opinion:
“We do not consider whether the Act embodies sound policies. That judgment is entrusted to the Nation’s elected leaders. We ask only whether Congress has the power under the Constitution to enact the challenged provisions.”
