Obamacare: Where All Pigs Are Equal But Some Pigs Get Waivers
Justin Washington, the Blogger ^ | 07/01/2012 | Justin Washington

Orwell was certainly prescient in ”Animal Farm” when he invisioned a futuristic farm wherein the farm animals take over and establish democratic rule; unfortunately, the pigs in charge ultimately determine that while “all animals are equal … some are more equal than others.”

And, hence, we get Obamacare where everyone is taxed as a penalty for not carrying health insurance and also, ironically, where everyone is taxed anyway. President Barak Urkel Obama pontificated that no one earning less than $250,000 would see a tax increase under his administration, then he and the Democrat controlled Congress and the Senate passed Obamacare under the cover of moral darkness and amid the vicissitudes of political corruption and cronism. This was NOT a tax, the Democrats assured us — only it turns out that the Supreme Court just recently confirmed otherwise.

The Wall Street Journal’s Chief Economist figured that 75% of the cost of Obamacare will fall squarely on the backs of those making $150,000 or less per year — the last anyone checked $150,000 is less than $250,000 even to those who were taught “new math” at America’s prestigious public schools.

Her Highness Nancy Bela Lugosi Pelosi flying in on her Thai Stick from California’s Sodom By the Bay is now weighing in: Obamacare is a penalty that falls under the tax code. The White House Press Secretary spent 5 minutes trying to explain how the penalty is a penalty and not a tax. Meanwhile, Baghdad Bob is still proclaiming that Iraq is winning the war and the American military is being crushed by Saddam Hussein‘s superior forces.

The mental gymnastics and contortions these people must perform to justify Obamacare would make Goebbel’s proud. Obamacare is now old enough, however, to begin to smell like rancid milk, and the American people are holding their collective noses.

Obamacare was to be the magic bullet to our health care problems but instead has caused many to begin dodging the bullet. The question must be asked: if Obamacare is so spectacular, why are so many companies and states asking for and getting waivers and exemptions from it?

So far, over 1,200 waivers have been issued, 20% of those to companies in Nazi Pelosi’s district alone, and at least one entire state, Nevada, Senate Majority Leader Dirty Harry Reid‘s state, has been exempted. Not surprising, of course, Congress is also exempted. Add labor unions and the various Obama-supporting corporations and you have a veritable menagerie of those who preached how wonderful it would be for all of us — apparently not for them.

Mark Simone on WABC 770 this past Saturday kept asking his liberal callers these two questions:

If Obamacare is so great, why all the exemptions, especially for Congress itself?

If Obamacare is so great, why doesn’t it kick in until 2014 and not right away?

Callers would sputter, change the subject, the usual.

None of them could face the fact that the Democrats KNOW Obamacare is a stinkbomb.

To be frank, that is all moral justification for a revolution. Just a matter of time, if this all stands.

You wouldn’t install all of these “delay” tactics unless you wanted the Supreme Court to weigh in and halt it. Well...they decided to let the administration go forward with the mess. If you look just on the situation with Medicare and how it will be taken down to nothing in a matter of months....you know that they really didn’t think long and hard over the consequences. It’s a scripted event....sadly, the Supremes didn’t want to play.

I have not seen anyone other than on FR point out that those Waivers on a Tax are Illegal.

You can't except a group over people from paying taxes.

The same thing that is happening now. They get the Fed to issue more of it.

GOP Congressmen, grow some nads.

Introduce a bill that grants a waiver to anyone who asks for it.

Will it pass? Not likely.

Will it cause heads to explode? Undoubtably.

Just a quick thought.

Take it for what it’s worth.

The nation shall not set up a religion to be the National Religion. ( I know it robably isn’t worded right, but you know what I mean)

Yet the Government says that Muslims do not have to pay.
Isn’t that a bit wrong?

They do it all the time - the progressive rates exempt the poor, tax breaks favor this company over that one, this industry over that one (think Energy Star), mortgage exemptions, charitible institutions, the list is illimitable.

Except that those exemptions are written into the law...there are no exemptions written into Obamacare. They are all after the fact.

Follow the money of those receiving waivers. You’ll find it in the campaign coffers of Democrats, especially Obama.

There will be many more seeking waivers and the waivers will go to the highest bidders. All above board, of course.

As many have asserted, ACA was never about health care. It was always about a huge pool of new money to government coffers and less money in the private sector.

Maybe not directly, but weren’t the a lot of “the director should” type of vagueries built in? I’m pretty sure they left themselves plenty of latitude to hide the devil in the details.

Then they have left it open for innumerable lawsuits. Which I hope happens.
