A Warning For Cardinal Dolan
National Catholic Register ^ | 8/15/2012 | Patrick Archbold

For sure, Cardinal Dolan has been the outspoken champion of the Church's rights and the rights of individuals to practice their religion in public free from coercive immoral mandates. For this and by virtue of his position in the Church, he rightly deserves our praise, respect, and a fair amount of trust.

Cardinal Dolan, We trust you. I trust you. But I also have a warning for you.

You wrote about what the perception would be if you refused to meet with the President saying "And, in the current climate, we bishops have maintained that we are open to dialogue with the administration to try and resolve our differences. What message would I send if I refused to meet with the President?"

We understand your point, Cardinal. But you must remember that dialogue is a two way street and so is perception. President Obama's Chief of Staff has made it clear that the President is done compromising. The President is also the same man who gave a speech at Notre Dame touting his commitment to conscience protections. He is the same man who looked you in the eye last year and promised the same. This is the same man whose own Whitehouse website still falsely claims the endorsement of the Catholic Health Association. He lied. He lies.

Cardinal, our ongoing concern

“A group, as such, has no rights. A man can neither acquire new rights by joining a group nor lose the rights he does possess. The principle of individual rights is the only moral base of all groups or associations.” – Ayn Rand

I agree. There is nothing to be gained — except for the other side — by meeting with or negotiating with an emissary of the devil. Obama is ready and able to exploit your position as leader of Catholics.

Cardinal Dolan’s response below. He is trying to explain his lack of judgement in inviting the baby-killing Obama to the Al Smith Dinner. Notice in the letter he does not say he will refuse to have his picture taken than with the sodomite-loving Obama. Of course not, because he will, and the picture will be plastered all over the newspapers and internet, and most Catholics will think that Dolan has no problems with Obama trying to destroy the Catholic Church. This is a terrible decision on the part of Dolan. I cant believe he’s so naive as to believe Obama will not use the event TO HIS ADVANTAGE. He will.

About the best you can expect from Dolan at this point(at the Dinner) is to pose for pictures but wear a suit or leisure attire , not clerical garb. But I expect this will not happen either.

Preferablly, justly and rightly, he’d don a Willard Scott costume from when he worked for McDonalds.

Sometimes dialogue just doesn't cut it.

I do not understand why Cardinal Dolan is breaking bread with this evil Kenyan-Muslim-Marxist. He cannot influence him nor absolve him of his corruption and his sins.
