The benefit, I guess of still having a landline.
Service straight out of the Central Office vs service via a remote system and or mux in the house(CTV) is Service during a power outage.
Unless the CO get nuked
Al so accounts for some of the strange poll results.
No, pollsters have caught up with technology and are calling a proportionate amount of mobile phones as well.
Just curious: what did they ask you about in the poll?
Gee cotton,
I sure hope you lied to whatever group was polling?
Last time I got polled I told them I was hispanic, made under 25,000 and received government benefits. I also told them I had no intention of voting for Obama.
Operation Chaos lives!
Lol i did the rxact same thing. 3x. i was independent hispanic who voted for obama and will vote for romney definetly. NOT!!!!
I hope you lied your arse off. It will be so much more entertaining watching the stunned media faces on election night.
Have pollsters been given an exemption from the Do Not Call list? That would be SOOOOOO like the Democrats.
We have an unlisted, unpublished number (which we pay extra for) and got called twice the other night. It's all automated so you don't talk to a person, just push buttons.
So in the first call I was a 20-something white female green party member who thought obama had made the economy worse and I fully intended to vote for him. In the second call I was an over-50 black muslim male who thought obama had made the economy worse and I fully intended to vote for him.
In the past I would never even talk to them when they called. It’s none of their business. However,in the future, I might just string them along and tell them I’m a disgruntled Scandinavian, nonaligned separatist, and let them figure out how to process that information.
Usually I tell them I’m a black female lesbian, work for the government, make in excess of $100K, and vote Republican.
I was polled in NH a week ago, they didn’t really talk to me just let me answer questions, pushing the buttons on the phone, Like, age, race, if I’m Dem, Rep or Ind, a likely or not likey voter, and will I be voting for Obama or Romney. I gave them the honest answers.
Well... beats getting poled.
Good point. But then again, landline owners and mobile phone owners undoubtedly have somewhat different demographics, and likely poll somewhat differently on political questions and candidates. There are so many different issues involved in poll sampling that could skew the results, so a pollster who values accuracy faces a nuch more complex task in designing the methods used than you might think at first glance.
A friend of mine who is still registered as a Democrat as a result of past years when you had to be if you wanted to vote in anything other than the primaries was polled. She told them the truth, that yes, she is a Democrat but she would not be supporting Obama and would be voting for Romney.
