One of Mitt Romney's biggest supporters, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, had nothing but praise for President Barack Obama today, as his state prepares to rebuild from the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.

"I have to say, the administration, the president, himself and FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate have been outstanding with us so far," Christie said on Good Morning America. "We have a great partnership with them."

The GOP tends not to invent memes like the Left and Dems. What’s Christie supposed to do? Lie if he’s gotten the help requested? He would only look small and the media would then reflect it on Romney. This way, at best, its a local story. No harm done.

I saw this on the MSM this morning. Christie worked the
phrase “Forward” into his statement like a good toadie.

How about he just shut up? Praising Obama at this point is not good for anybody. Bush certainly got no praise for ANY of his efforts.

Christie is a good man and a good leader. He said the right thing in the right tone. This is not about politics. His state is down and hurting.

Maybe its not about politics to him....BUT it certainly is to the media/left. And they will use ANYTHING to get Obummer elected again. So, he needs to shut up.

I understood Christie to be giving an honest opinion about the cooperation he got on Hurricane Sandy and was not giving Obama an endorsement.

A hurricane is not a decerner of political parties (unless a republican happens to be president).

He’s a politician. He know’s he needs help from the Federal Government, so he has to butter up the money source. Smart thinking.

Christie is doing his job, and making it non-political is the right thing to do. The media has their knee pads on. They are despicable. Some on the right need to make the statement that Christie has been excellent in this crisis in NJ, and hat tip to Romney for selecting him as the keynote of the convention to represent the leadership of our party.

It must be an election year.

Just look at all the times Obama refused to help Red States when they needed federal help, midwest floods, texas fires, Louisiana oil spill and hurricane.

The whole damn country is down and hurting. Is he trading a little FEMA money for NJ in exchange for 4 more years of economic hell? I think so...

I saw this too and wondered why Christie -ate least twice— added his own adjectives to his statements.....saying Obama was extra ordinary, etc. I wondered why he would do that unless he wants Romney to lose.

What they say is not his problem. It's called the First Amendment. The few times I have seen this guy I respect him.
