Pick a scandal, any scandal. Don't like any of the current scandals? Don't worry, just like a city bus, there will be a new one along in ten minutes or so. But, why now? It's not as if the administration suddenly became corrupt. How is it a whole slew of scandals involving the Obama administration hit all at once?
You certainly can't thank the vertebrae challenged republicans for it. Remember Fast n Furious which quietly faded into oblivion?
Darrell Issa isn't strong enough.
Now we've got the administration spying on journalists, using the IRS to harass innocent Americans who happen to be patriots and the scandal de jour, we found out that our personal emails and cell phone calls are being monitored by the NSA twisting anti terrorism laws well beyond absurdity. But wait, didn't Obama tell us he took care of that problem already?
You will note the one unresolved scandal that gets no attention right now is Benghazi. The media is too busy chasing the daily disgrace. From where Obama sits, this is a good thing. The snooping stuff, meh. He can push that off on rogue operators in the NSA, the IRS or whichever government agency fits best.
Granted, he's backed himself into something of a corner as far as his possible defenses go. He can only make one of two arguments: 1) I knew all about it and master minded each of the operations or 2) I'm a clueless figurehead who knows nothing about what goes on in my own administration.
Benghazi, however, is the one scandal he cannot blame on anyone other than himself. Barack Obama was Commander in Chief during the Benghazi attack. It was he alone who could have issued the orders for our special forces to stand down and let our ambassador and three other Americans be slaughtered.
He can blame Hillary for setting up the embassy for assault, but when it came time to step up and be a Commander in Chief, Obama wasn't there.
As bad as the IRS, media harassment and full bore spying on American citizens scandals are, nobody has died. Each of those scandals deserves a complete investigation by independent counsel.
But, Benghazi is the one that is a genuine menace to Obama. His conduct pretty much defines dereliction of duty as Commander in Chief of the United States military. With a few notable exceptions, we can expect republicans to let it slide right by just as Fast n Furious did. That idiot, Eric Holder still has his job, after all.
We need someone stronger than Darrell Issa at the helm.
From Obama's perspective, it makes perfect sense to roll out a bunch of shiny objects in the form of a constant barrage of new scandals that he can blame on others in hopes that Benghazi will simply evaporate.
Americans can multitask. We can demand investigation of the current boatload of scandals without losing sight of the Benghazi massacre. What we can't do is let Obama keep rolling new shiny objects out to distract us from the scandal which could and properly should take down this White House.
Cdn’t have said it better. Benghazi is & has always been the one Obama fears most. People think it cd be because he went to bed when he should have been trying to save American lives. It’s also possible that he spent the time w an individual whose name he doesn’t want to have associated w his dereliction of duty.
Now, the informant has been turned into the “shiny object”; put on the Most Wanted List. - Somebody had to tell us what Obama, YES! Obama, was up to; now this regime is setting the man up - for Lord only knows what. - Demonized as the Tea Party was demonized; when all the time the Occupy crowd (Obama’s rabble rousers) was doing all the nasty.
If you think these are the end of the scandals, you would be mistaken...Chicago on the Potomac.
I think he was drunk or stoned and likely passed out. That would be the only reason I can think of that he could not be reached.
If he was with somebody, he still could be interupted. If he was impossibly drunk? It doesn’t matter what they do, they wouldn’t be able to stand him up.
jmho, but if he was too drunk to do his duties and Americans died because of it, he should not only be impeached, but he should be prosecuted for criminal negligence.

The problem of his indifference is why I’ve thought from early on that it was a staged fake kidnapping. Obama wasn’t worried because he knew the plan. That would not be the case if it was just some cover for weapons smuggling. The CIA guys went independent and the situation went out of control.
If Obama was incapacitated or incommunicado, someone else could have acted. Everyone in the White House would know the protocol.
Another possibility is that it was an assassination that had Obama’s approval.

No, the wheels are coming off the bus. The facade is crumbling. The cabal is breaking. The rats are jumping ship. The regime is now in real meltdown.

Interesting you should suggest this. Obama’s Mini Me, Deval Patrick, was recently asked what he did the night one of the Boston Bombers was killed & the other captured. He said, & I quote, ‘I got very, very drunk’. (Imagine a Republican governor saying such a thing.) We know after one of Obama’s physicals the dr told him to moderate his drinking. It’s certainly possible he drank to excess on the night in question.
Otoh, he cd have said to his aids, ‘I put Hillary in charge of this thing, & I don’t want to be disturbed.’ Then he cd have spent time w someone he doesn’t want people to know he spent time w, & none of his aids wd dared have interrupted him.
At this point, we just don’t know.

I hope you are right. What you say makes sense.
If you think about it, all of these malfeasances and treasons and murders, the ONLY one Thighness would want to go away is Benghazi. The rest assist her in ‘16.
And voila! no more Benghazi - SHE thinks.
Wrong. There are 30 witnesses ....convalescing.. who can testify two per month for fifteen months, keeping the story alive AND depressing RAT morale.
There are terrorists, impatient and exhausted with the FBI’s inability to even get the Benghazi reality right, let alone solve it, who are offering helpful testimony about the event.
I'll admit, it's a delicious theory, and may even be true with respect to some of the scandals we're seeing.
In fact, to take your theory further, Hillary may not have had to do more than drop the first shoe, to get the ball rolling on the others. The Clintons understand Washington like few others, and could conceivably plan something that crafty.
