Allen and Debra VanHoozer are mourning the loss of their child, 24-year-old Heather, after an illegal immigrant who was not deported by U.S. authorities after a series of run-ins with law enforcement. The Mexican national was allowed to stay in the U.S. after numerous drug arrests, resulting in him allegedly killing the young woman by operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. U.S. authorities claim they do not routinely deport illegal aliens for marijuana offenses; apparently they do not routinely deport people for being in the U.S. illegally, either.
The VanHoozer family is now set to face the accused killer of their child in court. The young Mexican “Dreamer” was Osvaldo Cerda, 18, and he is expected to plead guilty to intoxication manslaughter, according to Houston’s KHOU News.
He faces a maximum sentence of twenty years if convicted of taking the young woman’s life, then allegedly taking a swig of his beer, crushing the can underfoot, and ultimately running away without assisting his victim.
KHOU News’ Teresa Woodard described Cerda as "an illegal immigrant with a criminal record. He had had three prior arrests for marijuana possession. This still-grieving mother and father can not understand why he had not been deported.”
Heather VanHoozer was a nursing student at Texas Woman’s University. "Alan broke down as he called Heather ‘the best daughter I could have,’" reports Woodard. "Through tears, he said: 'Just couldn't have asked for a better child.'"

It says “their child” not “a child” or “the child”. Your child is your child no matter how old they are. I suppose they could have said daughter, but my guess is they DID say daughter at some other point in the piece.
A few years ago in the town I was working in, a drunk Hispanic illegal (drunk at 3pm, by the way) drove his truck into a young girl around 8 years old and her mother as they were leaving the young girls dance class, killing the mother and daughter instantly. The next day at work, I was talking about what I hoped would happen to the guy who did it, and a liberal former friend snapped “Oh, everyone is looking for vengeance. I’ll bet the poor guy feels just terrible about it, people should just leave him alone”. Some people are just too dense.
You can get away with anything in the United States as long as you aren’t a German that wants to Home school.
I was on jury duty the week of 12/11/06 and one of my fellow jurors told me that her nephew was killed a year earlier by two illegals DRIVING their truck with FAULTY BRAKES to the BRAKE SHOP to be repaired when – surprise, surprise — the BRAKES FAILED AND THEY KILLED HER NEPHEW. I guess these MORONS thought they were back in Mexico where – in addition to driving DRUNK — they and their idiot friends do crap like that all the time. Can you say “Tijuana Taxi?” Can you say “TOW TRUCK?”
The driver got 4 years in prison and will be deported when he gets out.
Gotta wonder how long it will take him to sneak back in and kill someone else?
Estimates indicate they are killing around 25 American citizens each day, either with vehicles or via other criminal activity.
I can’t wait until the interstates start filling up with Mexican truckers on tight deadlines – and I do mean DEADlines – hurtling at carloads of unsuspecting native-born American citizens – all 387 of us.
Do you suppose this crap might stop if one of Obama’s daughters became a victim?
Of course, unlike the rest of us, they are driven everywhere by an ARMED SS detail, which eliminates the risk that they will be mugged or raped.
Why don’t we use NAFTA to send our convicts to Mexico?
My guess it will cost 1/10 what it costs here to house and feed prisoners. After a stint in Mexican jail, our criminals will be very reluctant to commit crime again. Better than all those expensive prison psychiatrists and money spent on rehabilitating the convicts.

Dallas County Judge Dominique Collins said to the defendant, Osvaldo Cerda, at
the sentencing hearing.
“You’ve sat here and asked for mercy, but you’re not getting out of this one.”
Collins sentenced Cerda to 20 years in prison on a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
He is not eligible for parole. After serving his sentence, Cerda, who is living in the U.S. illegally,
will be deported to Mexico.
