Some pundit on Fox was saying the police were legally justified in the shooting because, even though the women was unarmed, she was in a sensitive area and...might...have had a car bomb or bomb vest. If that is true they could legally shoot anybody in the Capitol area at any time, under the same reasoning...
So, they could pull a baby from the car, but not the woman? This didn’t have to end the way it did.

I’m not buying that “kill them because they may detonate a bomb” approach. Wouldn’t a terroist who was expecting to die anticipate their death and simply rig a deadmans switch to detonate the explosives? Killing them would set it off.

I would think if a person had a car bomb they wouldn’t draw attention to themselves the way she did.
