Obamacare website finally works well enough to deliver long-expected sticker shock

...Even if it isn’t perfect, more people are finally able to get through and see quotes. And that’s Obamacare’s big problem — the one we all expected, as opposed to the unexpectedly bad website issues.

Now that the site is sort-of working, people are learning that practically all of their disposable income will soon go to pay for more expensive health insurance that is substantially worse than what they had before.

Take this guy — Dave Petno, an insurance broker in Ohio...

The only purpose of Ubamacare is to siphon away all the savings of anyone who has savings and make all the peasants wards of the state.

This message has to be part of the GOP election strategy in 2014 and 2016. Namely, that people are paying more for inferior insurance coverage under Obamacare.

We missed a golden opportunity to repeal or make major changes to Obamacare based on the election results of 2012. But 2014 and especially 2016 could be our last chances to make substantial change to this inane law. Even with all of the problems of this law, if we have a Democrat president elected in Nov. 2016, this law will never ever go away or be subject to any substantive change after that.

And now the life lesson is learned among the idealistic campus Obama voters. You want more government, you got it!

I love the comments from Obama apologists who are saying the web site will be working fine in 2017! Imagine if companies like Amazon, Price Line etc. had web sites as non functional and unreliable as healthcare.gov...they would be out of business. Perhaps the Obamacare web designers should look for help from the porno sites... I’m certain they are more reliable.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the property grab scheme that is called “Medicare”.

If you don’t have all your ducks in a row, the gov’t confiscates your property to recompense medicare after your death.

How can most people accept the higher cost if, as reported a few months ago, most people live paycheck to paycheck and can barely make ends meet?

I am aware of that, and I am also aware that under Ubamacare you can be forced into Medicaid.

What do you mean "we?"
Quite frankly, I hope those affected worst of all are the Republicans who said their "principles" wouldn't let them vote for Romney.
Try using your "principles" to douse this ...

I'd like to see real numbers on this. How many people would have to spend more than their disposable income to get an Obamacare policy?

Maybe it will hit the people. Maybe they’ll get it. Maybe they’ll stop voting for marxists.

They will only go after people with assets. If you have no assets you are safe. The goal is to siphon all savings away from anyone with savings and make all the peasants wards of the state.

You mean Medicaid, not Medicare. Two different programs.

Be careful. If you don’t sign up for Obamacare you might be put on the Medicaid rolls without your consent or knowledge. Then liens can be put against your assets.

"They will only go after people with assets. If you have no assets you are safe. The goal is to siphon all savings away from anyone with savings and make all the peasants wards of the state."

That still doesn't solve the problem of millions of people suddenly uninsured because they couldn't afford the premium and deductable increases under Obamacare which is the only alternative available. Much of the middle class is now living paycheck to paycheck and can't afford these price increases. And these are the people who actually work hard for a living.
