Savage Destroys Hannity [Wallbanger is sad.]
The Rich Lieberman Report ^ | 3/26/2014 | Rich Lieberman

Posted on 03/26/2014 6:05:10 PM PDT by AdamBomb

Love him, hate him, revile at his rants, he's the highest-paid radio host in the Bay Area; Michael Savage, syndicated talkie that has destroyed his ghost rival, Sean Hannity not only here, (KSFO), but NY, (King of the apple), Chicago, Detroit, Dallas. It's not even close in the important radio demos that count although some advertisers are still weary of Savage's discourse. They might have to reassess that position.

Savage makes north of a million dollars but between his books and diversified business interests fortune, he's reportedly worth close to $100 million. Who needs radio?

Savage reminds m e of libtards. They can't stand on their own so thy have to destroy others to build themselves up.

Totally. I agree. Savage spends half his show telling us how bad Hannity and other conservatives are; its draining and small minded.

Oh, I know why Michael Wiener calls his rivals names, I was just wondering why you do. Thanks.

It’s childishness like this that turns me off of people like you. The enemy is those trying to destroy our country, not competing radio hosts.

"If you have time to listen to and stomach Savage, then you need to get a job, get a life, take meds."

well then I guess 10 million of us fit in that category.

Good to see you kristinn.

Savage lost me for good when he started attacking Mark Levin.

I completely agree... whenever he calls him "Wallbanger" because of Sean's background as a General Contractor, it makes Micheal look like an elite, ignorant, self-promoting douchebag. It's rude. Unprofessional. Childish.

Like... if I were to call a black person a "nigger"... it would just be a poor reflection of my character.

I do enjoy the entertainment value of Savage's show... He can entertain in a manner unseen since one of the greatest raconteurs ever in the medium, Jean Shepherd.

The thing is... I used to give Savage slack and say to myself, "OK, I will listen until he starts bloviating about himself, his shows ratings... or "Wallbanger this, Wallbanger that". It's exactly how Howard Stern's showstarted to bore me... The show begins to be a masturbatory experience for the host to talk about the show.

Savage makes it about 3 minutes before it gets old and I go and tune into something else... like Jason Lewis.

I agree. I listened to Savage ONCE about 7 years ago while driving. I found him repulsive. That was it for me.

An inconvenient fact (or two) that Savage ignores..

In each market cited, Savage is on a more powerful station with a better signal. Makes a difference.

In two of the markets, who is Savage’s lead-in? Rush Limbaugh. So, the golfer is giving him a ready audience. Is he building on that lead-in or losing it?

Finally, where are Savage’s LA numbers? Rush and Sean jumped to a 0.6 (first PPM book) on KEIB, already beating the Cumulus talker KABC.

It’s all how you slice it

The PhD he holds is from Berkeley and is in “Nutritional Ethnomedicine.”

I’d say it definitely qualifies for “Piled Higher and Deeper.”

In New York, Rush is the lead in for Wallbanger. But that hasn’t helped Wallbanger at all. Listeners are switching to listen to Savage.

Savage is not YET on an LA station. He will be soon and we’ll likely see the same phenomenon.

Finally, Savages numbers INCREASED from January to February on the new stations while Wallbanger’s stayed the same or decreased.

This is the beginning.

The topic is dragging down conservative radio hosts with cheap personal attacks to build up another radio personality.

Rush has stressed for many years that talk radio is first and foremost entertainment.

Who happens to be the loudest carnival barker has nothing to do with who is the best at promoting the political agenda that is important to FReepers or the nation as a whole.

I listened to him in the east when he was a night show.

I like him when he is conservative, but I understand that is for the show at best.

I understand he used to give campaign contributions to some California Libs.

I read their names years ago, must be getting older can’t remember the names, I just know I was shocked.

It would be better if Savage concentrated his fire on Reid Pelosi and Obama. If Hannity is no competition for him why is he bothering?

What, on God's green Earth does that have to do with Michael Wiener?

well then I guess 10 million of us fit in that category.

Lessee, that represents about 3% of the population which can reasonably be construed to be at the far end of the bell curve, with most of them residing in large liberal population centers such as New York city, Chicago and Detroit. That makes perfect sense

Who are you to decide what articles get posted here?.
If you don’t like facts, leave the conversation. The fact is Savage is
outperforming Hannity., at least for the moment.

Of course, ratings a just a snapshot in time.
At this time Savage is out performing Hannity.
It could be just the opposite in the next ratings release.
But for now, Savage is outperforming Hannity.
