Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will deliver the keynote address at a clean energy summit in Las Vegas this September.
The National Clean Energy Summit, co-sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and liberal think tank Center for American Progress, will be held on Sept. 4 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
"I am delighted to welcome Secretary Clinton to Nevada for our seventh National Clean Energy Summit on Sept. 4 in Las Vegas,” Reid said on a call with reporters Friday.
Reid touted Clinton's commitment to fighting climate change and boosting the nation's renewable energy resources.
“Secretary Clinton has been a staunch supporter of bolstering our national security and protecting our climate by deploying clean and renewable energy resources," Reid said. "She understands the energy issues we are facing in the U.S. and around the world and I look forward to her valuable contribution to this conversation in September.”
While Clinton — a likely 2016 presidential contender — has expressed support for clean energy initiatives, she remains mum on her position regarding the contentious Keystone XL pipeline.
In its seventh year, the annual conference will be held on Thursday, September 4, at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Co-sponsored by Sen. Reid, the Center for American Progress, the Clean Energy Project, MGM Resorts International, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the "National Clean Energy Summit 7.0: Partnership & Progress" will explore the benefits of public-private partnerships to deploy clean energy, investing in innovation, and building the infrastructure needed to modernize our nation's electric grid.

I read about John Podesta’s brother’s divorce, it’s bad. These people make enormous fortunes from corporations - payments made to influence our laws to get corporations special deals.

Hillary has been protecting our climate? We must live in a mad, mad, mad world. Reid has to be insane to make such a stupid declaration! Taxpayers are paying a crazy man to make insane statements!
At least Reid has not shot dead yet those exposing illegal donations... maybe not quite powerful enough yet... or as protected by foreign agents... pen and phone.
