Pissed Off Man Confronts Police After They Shot His Dog [VIDEO]
The Daily Caller ^ | June 26, 2014 | Chuck Ross

A man whose dog was recently shot and killed by Salt Lake City police has posted a video of an exchange he had with officers minutes after the shooting.

Sean Kendall’s 3-year-old Weimaraner, named Geist, was shot in the head last week after officers entered the homeowner’s yard while searching for a missing child.

The video, posted to Kendall’s Facebook page on Wednesday, begins 15 minutes after the shooting, right after Kendall received a call from animal control informing him of the incident.

“Which officer shot my dog? Please,” Kendall asked several officers standing in his front yard when he arrived at the scene.

“We were looking for a lost child,” one officer responded. A neighborhood parent had reported their 3-year-old child missing earlier in the day. The child was later found asleep in the basement of the family’s home.

“And that gives you probable cause to enter a private residence without permission from the owner?” said a livid Kendall, who asked for the names and badge numbers of the officers.

“He was threatened by the dog, and he shot the dog. That’s as simple as it gets,” one officer said.

The officer who shot Geist was not at the scene at the time, though the officers gave Kendall his name.

“So backing up slowly and leaving the residence was not an option?” Kendall asked, his voice growing more agitated.

“I understand it wasn’t you personally,” he said, “but you guys killed my dog.”

I’ve had this dog for three years. He was my best friend, and he was shot because an officer couldn’t back the f*** up out of my house!”

“Is that against policy? Is that against training?” Kendall asked.

Kendall referenced a spate of cases, often dubbed “puppycides,” in which police officers shoot dogs, often with little provocation.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Kendall met with city police officials and wants the officer who shot Geist to be fired.

He’s got the name of the cop who did it. Now it’s time for some payback on a personal level.

I hope he publishes the name and exposes the coward for this act so we all can scandalize him!

“SOME cops are pigs. “

And the rest, 100% of the rest, enable them by covering for them.

This is why the police are losing all respect.

De-certify the police union. As a group, they act like the brotherhood of silence. Once the union is disbanded they will return to serve the public, not the union or the party.

“The day is coming when a dog owner will blow the head off a Ramboed-Up Dog Killer who just shot the family’s dog “

Already happened. Killed a Police Chief if I recall correctly. I cheered.

Yep, and that includes their commanders, administrators, bureaucrats and the local tin-pot pols who are terrified of the cops and their unions.

I had 12 encounters with the cops, 6 as victim and 6 as normal guy trying to go about his day.

In the 6 times I needed the cops, they did NOTHING. In one case, I found the wallet of the thief who stole my car UNDER THE FRONT SEAT. They did nothing. Cops never pursue crime, in my experience.]

In the 6 times I was trying to legally go about my day, cops pulled me over for traffic violations, several of which nobody’s ever HEARD of. Did you know it is illegal to pass by a cop on the freeway who is on the shoulder with his lights flashing? NEITHER DID I! But $260 later I sure do. You have do evacuate the lane (which I tried to do out of chivalry but was aced out by a truck).

Cops are Revenuers for the Welfare State. They never prevent or solve a crime. They always jack up innocent civilians attempting to legally go about their day.

That’s my 52 years of experience. They can spend the next 52 years trying to overcome my impression by CHANGING.

Police doing what police do — killing man’s best friend — and then patting themselves on the back afterwards.

It’s as simple as that.

I'm not sure the nation's police fully appreciate just what kind of effect this ridiculously callous practice has on the public's attitude towards them and the work they're doing.

You do not shoot our dogs and expect our compliance and respect in return.

SOME cops are pigs

Until the ones that aren't start standing up and speaking out against the ones that are, then yes, they ALL are.

In North Carolina it definitely is. Many other states have a ‘pull over’ rule ostensibly due to the number of LEO’s killed or injured by gawking drunk drivers.

Events like this need to have painful consequences for the person/people responsible, along with those responsible for him/her/them, not the taxpayer.

Trespass onto someone's private property, and then kill an animal they loved and cared for as family, you should then feel real pain, the same as anybody else who did this would, if not more given the badge and position of authority.

And so should those who didn't properly train and/or who cover for those unfit for the job and who pose this sort of danger to the very people they are in positions of authority over.

I’m surprised he wasn’t tased and given an attitude adjustment by the officers for his impertinence.
