Bill Clinton demanded that little Elian Gonzalez be shipped back to his dad in Cuba and look how well that turned out! Oprah Winfrey even took up the call for that poor boy's return to Cuba. And we all remember to what great lengths the Democrats and then President Bill Clinton went to to make sure that little 5 year old boy made it back to Cuba.
And now there are all sorts of stories about how great Elian's life has turned out now that he was given back to his father and Cuba. Just look at how happy he is:
Matter of fact, Elian now says,: 'If I Had Religion, Fidel Castro Would Be My God' And that is just exactly what we want for all those kids coming from countries like Cuba, right? President Obama says they are just as good, so we would be doing them a big favor by sending them all back.
And look how dangerous it is for those kids coming across our border. One in three are getting raped.
So remember Elian Gonzalez... and tell President Obama to send them back.
It's for the children.

Elian’s family were USA citizens and would have taken care of him. These children, some up to the age of 17, don’t have USA citizens here ready to take care of them. Why all the secrecy of not letting the medical staff be interviewed and be fired if they talk. Something is not right. This is being paid by our tax dollar and we have a right to know what is going on.
Like every year since 2000, I will not be displaying an American Flag tomorrow. The Elian atrocity changed me forever.
Nothing the Clinton / Reno crowd would do could surprise me. But then, the country cheered it! One of the most popular things Clinton did. I still get physically ill thinking about it.
I said it then, and I say it now:

The Elian comparison had occurred to me. Glad you posted it.
Of course, those who demanded Elian be allowed to stay might have trouble with consistency in applying that solution to today’s dilemma. Might be a problem with hypocrisy there.
Common sense would have the US tie custody of the kids to the foreign aid we send to their nations of origin. You take back the kids, the aid keeps flowing. We keep the kids, we use that foreign aid to feed and house them.
Repatriation would follow quickly.
