I’m Jewish, and I disagree with the Muslim bashing that’s been going on

I’m Jewish, and I disagree with the Muslim bashing that’s been going on

I’m Jewish by birth, agnostic by choice, and I have a strong interest in Jediism and Greek Mythology.

President Obama recently referred to

“… the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation…”

Well, message boards and article comment sections all over the internet are flying with all sorts of criticism of Obama’s claim. Sadly, many of these people are claiming that Muslims have contributed nothing whatsoever to this great country of ours.

But the fact is that Obama does have a valid point.

The Sears Tower, which was the tallest building in the world for 25 years, was designed by a Muslim guy named Fazlur Khan. Khan was known as the “father of tubular designs for high-rises.” The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat named its lifetime achievement award, the Fazlur Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal, after him.

Ayub Khan Ommaya was a neurosurgeon who invented the Ommaya reservoir, which delivers chemotherapy directly to brain tumors. He was Muslim.

People should be judged as individuals. There are good and evil people in all religions. Some of the professional people that you come across in your day to day life are probably Muslim, and you don’t even know it. Doctors. Lawyers. Bankers. Teachers. Scientists. Entrepreneurs. Muslims are well represented in all of these professions.

Bash Obama all you want. I certainly do. But I bash him as an individual. Bash any individual all you want. But please don’t bash an entire religious population because some of its members are evil.

In July 2010, Charles Bolden, the administrator of NASA, said that Obama had told him that the primary purpose of NASA was “to reach out to the Muslim world.” If Obama really did say that, then he was wrong. The real purpose of NASA is to teach all of humanity about the universe in which we live. So that would be a good reason to bash Obama, if he really did say it.

In September 2012, after four U.S. citizens were killed in a terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, the Obama administration falsely said that the attack was a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim video at YouTube. That’s certainly a reason to bash Obama.

In September 2012, the Obama administration phoned YouTube to complain about an anti-Muslim video. That’s certainly a reason to bash Obama. Ben Wizner of the ACLU said that of this, “It does make us nervous when the government throws its weight behind any requests for censorship.” Eva Galperin of the Electronic Frontier Foundation said of this, “I am actually kind of distressed by this… Even though there are all these great quotes from inside the White House saying they support free speech….by calling YouTube from the White House, they were sending a message no matter how much they say we don’t want them to take it down, when the White House calls and asks you to review it, it sends a message and has a certain chilling effect.”

In June 2013, Rasmussen conducted a poll to find out what people considered to be the “nation’s top terror threat.” Reporting on the results of the poll, Rasmussen wrote: “Among those who strongly approve of the president, more fear the Tea Party than radical Muslims.” That’s a good reason to bash people who strongly approve of Obama. And it’s a good reason to bash the terrorists who happened to be Muslim. But it’s not a good reason to bash all Muslims, or to claim that they have contributed nothing whatsoever to the building of this country.

I’ll close with this statistic that may surprise a lot of people: in the 2000 U.S. Presidential election, nearly 80% of Muslims voted for Bush.

A few high rise buildings and cancer treatments do not a “fabric” make.

When “moderate” Muslims start speaking out against the radicals and terrorists who are supposedly only a fringe, then I will reconsider. Until then, I believe all Muslims to be suspect. Btw. I haven’t seen one so called moderate practicing Muslim on TV defending the civilized people of Israel. All oddly defending Hamas, under the guise of concern for Palestinian children (of course).

I’m not into Jediism, and I feel comfortable bashing Islam.

Well, Squirrelly Dan ... it's because they haven't.

"Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."

All I see is an enemy that lashes out at civilized people while hiding beneath the skirts of women and behind babies held in front of them. Whether they are muslim or not isn’t a factor, that they “need killin’” is pretty much the only relevant point, IMHO. Let history decide what they were once the misery they inflict on innocents is extinguished.

Doesn't surprise me. Bush was always a lapdog for the Saudis. That's why he walked hand-in-hand with the Saudi "king". That's why he let the Bin Laden clan escape the U.S. after 9/11 while all other flights were grounded. That's why 4 days after 9/11, with the WTC still smouldering, Bush took his shoes off in a filthy D.C. mosque, standing next to a Muslim Brotherhood Imam to declare Islam the "religion of peace" (just imagine FDR doing that in a Shinto shrine 4 days after Pearl Harbor to understand how disgusting it was). And that's why Bush let the Muslim world -- particularly the Saudis and Pakistan -- off the hook after 9/11, going after the more irrelevant Saddam Hussein instead, and letting Musharraf tie his hands in Western Pakistan when Bush could have imposed any will on ANY country he wanted to after 9/11.

No...I would say the Muslims voted for the right guy to uphold their interests.

Muslims were in fact the proximate cause of the recreation of the US Marines, who had been disbanded after the Revolution!

The Barbary Wars are increasingly covered up in the PC US history.

ex-freakin-actly!!! It’s bs that ‘moderate’ muslims have been defined for us as those muslims who choose not to strap explosives to themselves or family members at this time. What ‘moderate’ ought mean is a vocal, active force that drives the extreme killing freaks toward the center. Passivity is NOT moderation; moderation is a force. Passivity is acceptance of the killing behavior and allows it to happen. F allah, and the pedophile it rode in on.

Hey. I agree with the sentiment here but then don't praise an entire religious population either. If we are going to judge individuals, then let's do that. But lets stop the identity group nonsense that picks out ethnic and religious groups for special praise. When Christmas rolls around, you don't hear Obama talking about the special contribution that Christians have made to the national fabric.

I am a human being and I totally agree with the muslim bashing going on. The most glaring contribution that muslims have made to America was the murder of over 3000 of our citizens on 9/11.
One man designing a building hardly rates as any kind of contribution.
Muslims are turning some of our cities into 3rd world nations. Their death cult of islam only contributes oppression fear and death.

Yes, there are millions of good and decent Muslims in the world. But that does not excuse the fact that due to provisions of the Koran, Islam appeals to the most savage, violent, and stupidest people of the world. No other religion advocates going out and killing non-believers.

The evidence is in the pct. of terrorist attacks by Muslims around the world. Muslims commit well over 90% of all terrorist attacks. And they treat females like slaves. Women are also subject to "honor" killings for the "crime" of being a victim. If any other religion did these things they could be justifiably attacked.

People should be judged as individuals. There are good and evil people in all religions.

Sure, but those Muslim individuals need to prove that they are NOT evil due to the overabundance of evil people who share their religion. In the end this is impossible since you can never, EVER trust a Muslim. The moderate Muslim won't cut your throat, but he'll happily sharpen the knife for the radical who will.

Millions of “good” Muslims? Where are they? Who are they? What are they doing to denounce their bloody, savage co-religionists?

Nowhere to be found and doing nothing—eah one is one Friday sermon away from becoming an enthusiastic mass murderer.

Deport and banish each from entry into the west, especially the US.

What this turd is really saying is this:

Hi, I am an ignorant, assimilated Jew who knows nothing about his own faith or way of life yet, I think it is cool and people will love and respect me if I say I was “raised” Jewish and today and am agnostic! Isn't that cool? I hope it makes me more socially acceptable.

By distancing myself from my own people and showing disdain for it, I hope to show others that I am not one of those “typical” Jews, rather, I am (a Progressive) an ignorant self-denegrading type of Jew and frankly my fellow Jews embarrass the hell out of me.

I champion all other people's national liberation movements, and social change movements because it's fashionable and they won't think I am Jew or God forbid a...Zionist!

I believe in, above all things, animal rights, Homosexual marriages, free the whales, gun control, the right for Palestinian self-exopression by killing Jews because I am child of the universe, made from start stuff as we are all created equal. Equal in the sense that all other peoples have rights, especially Muslims because they seem to be discriminated against now, for what reasons I really don't have a clue but they are human beings after all!

The fact that they are on a global Jihad right now and would kill me means very little to me right now because I eat free range chickens and recycle plastic bottles.

By distancing myself from my fellow Jew, maybe they won't saw off my head. I mean I will plead with them that yes, I am an agnostic self-hating Jew but I never adopted my parents' or previous 300 generations before, the acceptance of Torah Judaism.
I believe that Muslim's have the right to cause murder and mayhem on the planet because they need to express their outrage, their inner angst at my bad, bad culture.

If you oppose the Muslim bashing, squirrel, then you are a useful tool for the anti-Semitic Islamic Nazis. Your agnosticism tells me you are godless and judging from your Nazi alliance, you are pure evil. Go to h@11, Satin!

Right. Put a “moderate” Muslim all alone in a cave with a Jew tied up to a chair. Then convince me, with no one watching but Allah, the moderate Muslim would not kill the infidel... I don’t buy it.
