"More and more, it is appearing our big problem is our corporations, continue to offshore manufacturing."

Why do you think that might be the case? Do you think they're doing it for the sheer fun of it?

Our government spends, what, $1.50 for every $1.00 it receives. And your solution is to build factories.

America needs to make things.

Bring back American manufacturing.

It's a disaster....

A discount coupon isn't worth anything, if the item isn't in stock or not available in my size. I got tired of it, so quit going no matter how steep the discount.

Bring back jobs to America.

Excellent idea!

Step 1: Say Bring back jobs to America.

Step 2: See Step 1

Step 3: When Step 1 and Step 2 work so well, who needs a Step 3?

That needed to be said. Well put.

But if you had the time I bet you could go on, and on, and...

Wipe out regulation and you will get economic growth: EPA, IRS, Secretary of Education, Obamacare and Social Security. A strong willed Congress (not Boner or Mickey McConnell) and a strong president (don’t see a TP candidate winning) would do the trick. Alas, that is where I don’t think that is going to happen. Like the good Boy Scout, I stand prepared, vote for what’s right and talk to the LoFos when they will listen. Talk of a revolution with guns is nonsense, talk of a spiritual revolution is possible. So much work and so few workers. What are you doing?

I know what you’re saying about size selection.

Yes, last time I was in JCP 's Big/Tall section, there was plenty of big (i.e. fat) sizes; little to no tall sizes. And they have converted the stores into that 'boutique' style, where clothes are sorted by brand. They may have fired the loser CEO, but stayed with his ideas.

We hear much about how the glory days were in the 1950's. So, let's take a look:

Visualizing the growth of federal regulation since 1950 .

Academy Sports and Outdoors carries a line of pocket Magellan t shirts that are top quality, very affordable. Every size and color. Another brand they carry is BCG. Some of the best t shirts, no pockets though.

I recently ordered 10 on sale, paid $6 a piece.

Just saying, America has 50 states. Any one, would welcome companies to come back.

And that's the way it should be, the states as laboratories, each trying in its own way to attract industry.

Unfortunately, we all must bow to federal regulators and federal tax collectors. They will choke off most attempts at growing industry. That's why we need a conservative businessman as the next president, someone who will actually do something about this problem.

Yes, I’m sorry, but “boutique” and “Penney’s” just don’t go together in the same sentence.

My store has cleared out merchandise to make room for silly, useless fixtures like a modern table and chair, all in white, in the middle of a glowy neon-lit space. Reminds me of the late ‘60s “Brady Bunch” furniture in my childhood Barbie dollhouse..

Usually, in January at least one mall store closes.”

Two stores in our nearest mall closed this year. One was Coldwater Creek which I was sorry to see leave, although the quality of their merchandise had decreased over the last couple of years and the price increased.

The other one struck me as funny, rather than sad. There has been a huge move underfoot to mobilize Democrat women in our county and the number of Blacks moving to our area from the city have increased which may have helped in their organization. For about three months they had meetings twice a week at one of the restaurants in the mall. Was up at the mall last night and noticed that the restaurant is now closed. Poetic justice?

“Whaddaya say, Freepers?”

Well, now that you ask...

I probably contribute to the store closings in the malls because I only buy from the local ‘mon and pop’ stores when at all possible, and when I cannot, I buy online. Frankly, I haven’t set foot in a mall more than twice in the past 5 years.

I also bank with a local bank rather than the big boys, althought I know Dodd-Frank provides for the ultimate demise of the local bank.

I , too, haven’t seen the inside of a mall in years except to go to the Apple store to resolve a computer problem. Last year I accompanied my husband to a local mall when he had an eye exam and bought new glasses. I hope the malls aren’t depending on people like me to survive.

True enough. But don’t forget something needs to be done to soften up the unbelievably hostile legal climate - for both business and individuals.

Reigning in political correctness wouldn’t hurt either.

I am really not interested in hearing why jobs left. No offense.

and nobody is interested in hearing you repeat yourself a dozen times in every thread you post to when it's been explained to you over and over and over again... at this point it's like thread spam

You sound like a union troll. You keep repeating the same lines, like you just copy/paste to threads.

America needs less regulations, right to work, and less taxes. Do that and the jobs will come back.
