Two days after he was sent home from a Dallas hospital, the man who is the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the United States was seen vomiting on the ground outside an apartment complex as he was bundled into an ambulance.
"His whole family was screaming. He got outside and he was throwing up all over the place," resident Mesud Osmanovic, 21, said on Wednesday, describing the chaotic scene before the man was admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday where he is in serious condition.
The hospital cited the man's privacy as the reason for not identifying him, but the New York Times gave his name as Thomas Eric Duncan....

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

And every single one of them had direct physical contact with the bodily fluids of Marthalene Williams not Duncan. Duncan did not cause their deaths.
Duncan carried Marthalene Williams, who was sick with and died from Ebola, by the legs and rode in the front seat of a taxi in which she riding in the back seat with her father and brother. Her brother has since also died from Ebola.
I see nothing, yet, that is inconsistent with the assertion that Ebola is transmitted only by direct physical contact with bodily fluids for a time period longer than a casual encounter.

He likely ralphed INSIDE the apartment, too. That’s probably when they hailed the ambulance and why they were outside screaming. No telling what they saw INSIDE that apartment. Egads.
Bear in mind it’s hot in Dallas (most of TX will be 95o tomorrow) and insects, including beetles, are doing quite well right now. Flies everywhere. Mosquitos seem to be dormant.
It would make sense that flies are a faster vector than fleas during the Bubonic plague. The 10K North Texas Liberian group has asked that their clans avoid large gatherings. I think we can trust these guys on vector avoidance.
A fly lands on puke or whatever, lands on a drink glasses’ rim and starts doing what flies do, upchuck.
The comments on reuters are refreshing. Seems pretty much the whole country wants to close our borders and planes to Ebola countries. Period.
WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN CHARGE OF OUR GOVERNMENT. Does it take an Ebola to get us Americans finally to step up and demand our rights? We are supposed to RUN the government.
The mosquitoes here (SE TX) are going crazy! They’ve doubled in quantity AND size, I think.
