Nazi Environmentalism: How green were the Nazis?

....National Socialism’s fixation with nature and the environment bears a striking resemblance to modern environmentalism. The similarities between Nazi yesteryear and today’s environmental movement are “troubling,” said Musser. (p. 26)

The Nazis created corporate welfare between the state and big business, state sponsored corporatism, squeezing out the middle class as bourgeois, and forcing consumers into rationing in order to build the war machine. Hitler himself believed that Germans would run out of food, and thus needed more Lebensraum, space to live. The Greens have adopted the Malthusian overpopulation theory (which was proven incorrect) when evaluating scarce natural resources such as land, forests, and water. Malthus “believed in long term population control measures, including birth control and economic protectionism.” (Ibid, p. 33)

Not much research is required to learn how the nazis were so deep into the ecowacko movement. Modern greenies are of the same ilk. Thus econazis.

Nazis were environmentalist new-age neo-pagans.

Very similar to today’s liberals and leftist.

I’d say, “without the ani-semitism”, but the libs of today seem to be quite anti-Semitic.

The fact that Herr Hitler was a vegetarian and a non-smoker say a lot.

They don’t just “seem” so.

The close resemblance to the Nazis is no accident, even down to wind farms, Malthusianism and “sustainable development”.

The parallels are broad and consistent.

Even the Semitic libs "seem to be quite anti-Semitic." Liberalism trumps all else.

"Everything gets compared to Nazi Germany by somebody eventually."

Santayana's admonition was not without merit.

Don’t forget, Hitler was a threefer: no meat, no alcohol, no tobacco.

As noted, the neo-paganism of the Nazis & today’s environwhackos can be closely compared both for their beliefs & their fanaticism.

The fact that Herr Hitler was a vegetarian and a non-smoker says a lot.

He had so much personal self-discipline to not smoke or eat meat, however his barometer for ordering the deaths of everyone he perceived as a personal enemy was set at wide open.

Environmentalism started with the Nazis. I read a book on it years ago. It may have been The Greening or something Unmasked. Anyway, well documented from what I remember.

And thinking people evaluate whether the comparison is apt.

Idiots either accept the comparison as valid just because it was made, or reject the comparison because it was inevitable that the comparison be made and evaluation requires mental effort.

Neither set of idiots have much integrity or virtue.

Godard ‘ Law was one of those lines that are funny the first time you hear it, but are intellectually vacuous when examined.

Environmentalism started with the Nazis.

Actually, it goes back to at least early 19th-century Romanticism.

http://theatheistconservative.com/2010/01/22/green-roots-the-origin-of-ecology/

OTOH, anyway, would you rather live in present day China and cough your lungs out on your way to work each morning?

Balance. Some degree of preserving the environment you live in is good. Going over the top like the Greens, EPA etc. and making it into some faux religion is bad. That cannot be too hard to understand.

Godwin's law--"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."-— that is, if an online discussion goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism.

The author of Nazi Oaks has an American Thinker article talking about Godwin’s Law and how it relates to modern environmentalism - http://www.americanthinker.com/2014/04/godwins_law_and_the_real_green_nazis.html.

Well, as to substance abuse, there are claims that Hitler was a meth addict, so I’d say, were it true, that negates his “threefer” gains.
