But wait, there’s more: Fifth video shows Gruber mocking Vermonters
Watch Dog ^ | Bruce Parker

Posted on 11/14/2014 3:42:28 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

".....In the 2011 video shot by TrueNorthReports.com and sent to Watchdog.org on Thursday, Gruber appears before the Vermont House Health Care Committee to present recommendations for a universal, publicly financed health care program. The recommendations were part of the 2011 “Hsiao Report” submitted to the Legislature by economist William C. Hsiao and co-written by Gruber.

As Gruber sits listening, the committee chair reads a comment from a Vermonter who expresses concern that the economist’s plan might lead to “ballooning costs, increased taxes and bureaucratic outrages,” among other things.

After hearing the Vermonter’s worries, Gruber responds, “Was this written by my adolescent children by any chance?”

The remark was met with uproarious laughter.

The video is the fifth in string of videos to surface this week in which Gruber publicly mocks citizens or boasts of his use of deception in crafting health care policies. Gruber is being paid $400,000 by the state of Vermont to advise Gov. Peter Shumlin on how to finance Act 48, Vermont’s single-payer health care law. His recommendations will be presented to the Vermont Legislature in January.

Contrary to Gruber’s snarky insult, the comment was not written by an adolescent.

“It was actually written by a former senior policy adviser in the White House who knew something about health care systems,” said John McClaughry, a two-term Vermont state senator and adviser to President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s.

McClaughry, who wrote the comment in an op-ed weeks before the 2011 committee meeting, told Vermont Watchdog he did not know Gruber made the condescending insult. However, he was aware of other videos discovered this week in which Gruber boasted of writing deceptive policies to trick “stupid” American voters.

“No one should trust this man. … Based on the rest of the stuff that’s come out on the videos, nobody can trust this guy. He has no use for transparency, he thinks people are stupid, and he’ll do anything to get this thing through and pocket his $400,000. That’s not in the interest of the people of Vermont,” McClaughry said.........

So he thinks his comedy act is worth $400K in whatever venue he’s playing. And MIT employs this comedian? MIT must be enrolled in the Program for the Employment of Jerks.

Wait a minute, did Gruber get $400,000 from Vermont AND $400,000 from the Obama administration. How many other states did he get $400,000 from?

I just want to see if he lied to Congress even once. If so, off to the Graybar Hotel.

There was a spreadsheet circulating around with some pretty specific information. Some of it revealed the contracts were DIRECT with him as an individual.

If I were MIT or the Senate, I’d be investigating his funding within MIT as an employee, the ‘expert advisor’ work he did under such, and then look at his individual contracts. Most any university has Conflict of Interest regulations that require employees to divulge outside activities and to obtain approval for them. My guess is he did not.

Obama is, without a doubt, at the center of the Obamacare deception which he calculatedly perpetrated on Americans in lockstep w/ Democrat party loyalists.

Obama specifically ordered Jonathan Gruber---and other “healthcare experts” in on the hoax---to find ways to game the CBO numbers so that they could pass the bill without Americans being the wiser.

After all, they had the preening Gruber who knew the "dirty little secret" of Romneycare---that Massachusetts ripped off the federal govt (read taxpayers) to finance it.

=====================================================

Gruber loved to pat himself on the back----b/c, he, a lowly MIT professor, was now in the company of the Big Boys--- visitng the WH a dozen times--rubbing shoulders w/ Mass Gov Mitt Romney and then-Sen Teddy Kennedy (the liberal lion of US politics).

Anytime he found himself before an audience, the self-satisfied Gruber lapsed into his gleeful, endless showboating over passing Obamacare....and how it was accomplished over the concern of "stupid" Americans.

THE SMOKING GUN---On July 20, 2009, Jonathan Gruber met with the POTUS in the West Wing. He was there almost four hours.

Jonathan Gruber has clearly identified President Obama as the source of the lie behind the "Cadillac Tax." Jonathan Gruber fingered the president of the US in the deliberate lie Obama used to pass the healthcare atrocity.

This whole episode is more vindication for Thomas Sowell and his excellent book The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy, which came out in 1996.

Yup. We’ve seen it again and again, in failure after failure.

It’s a growing list of states and agencies. Some are listed in today’s Washington Post piece.

7:50 Minutes
From 39 seconds to 2 min is George Will talking about progressivism – says that Gruber should have his own show and keep talking and educate the people about progressivism and their elitist attitude.
He was channeling Herbert Croly, founder of New Republic Magazine and published a book called “The Promise of American Life”.

“The average American individual is morally and intellectually inadequate to a serious and consistent conception of his responsibilities.”

Which is why the progressives have said for a 100 years we need experts to regulate and manage the bovine masses who do not know how to conduct their lives.
This is a tutorial we are getting this week in the progressive [spirit?] progressivism

It appears that Gruber made this his stump speech.

Bet if they check on other venues he attended they will find the same information over and over again.

He’s shown he’s a bold faced liar and he lies as easily as he breathes. I wonder what good it would do to have him testify before Congress. He’s just going to spew lie after lie with smugness and arrogance. He won’t give up Obama or any of the higher ups. He’d be hauled off to jail if necessary, and consider himself a martyr for the greater good.

He and his fellow progressives won this battle. The government tentacles now reach far into our health care system and it’s going to be nigh impossible to pull them back.

The lesson needs to be learned for the future.

One lesson was highlighted by Trey Gowdy:

NEVER pass "COMPREHENSIVE" legislation!

I disagree.

Make an example of gruber. Show other liars that jail time awaits people that act like this.

Your approach is a defeatist one.

As an observation and maybe this is off base, but it seems that this video would be infuriating to those who believe a single payer is the “answer”. All those who have been advocating for single payer will see that they have bought a lie as well.

I once heard Walter Williams say that the dirty little secret of liberals is that they think black people are too stupid, and white people too mean-spirited to make informed decisions.

This Gruber turkey just let that particular cat out of the bag.

I liked your post so much that I read it twice.

It has a unique property: one inputs the results and it returns the results wrapped in scientism and statistical significance and authority wrapped in a neatly packaged sciency linear regression bow.

I admit to reading this particular sentence three times since it's definitely the pick of the litter.

Gruber is not wrong about this one. Current projections are that single payer would cost Vermont more than the entire total cost of their current state budget.
