Let’s see, Volt, Bolt, and then, as suggested, Colt, Dolt, and Poult. Then they could bring back the crappy paint job that afflicted so many Chevies some years ago and use it on the newest of the line, the Molt.

Build one that can go 400 miles with the air conditioner on, and be recharged from any 110V outlet in 5 minutes, and cost no more than a comparable gas-powered car, and I might (might) think about it.

Eventually you may get all this except the recharge from a 110V outlet in 5 minutes. The outlet is simply too weak for a car. Tesla Superchargers deliver a lot of power. If EVs are here to stay, Tesla's (or a similar) connector has to become standard, and plentiful in cities. But batteries (as we know them today) cannot accept the charge in 5 minutes - the losses are too high, so a battery will explode. When you fuel a car up with gasoline, you are pumping megajoules with zero loss, and the gas tank does not need replacement after several years of use.

If we go alphabetically, don't forget Chevy Fault.

Volt Bolt Dolts should buy Colts instead.

“Bolt” sounds clunky and slow.

I wonder how many lies they crammed into this one considering how they bald faced lied about the Volt, its tech, whether or not there was a connection between the gas engine and the final drive, and even lied and claimed the Volt was “all electric” outright..
Time will tell.

The Tesla isn’t any better. When they can manage to do the larger cars for a $20k-30k price, they might have a point. That would mean that Tesla has managed to get themselves on par with the conventional gasoline-powered market - something that is very unlikely to happen soon.

Scrap environmental regulations like CAFE and let GM/Ford make their specialty - large, high-displacement, mass-market cars/trucks. Then fire the hippies doing car design for them, especially the ones at Ford that thought EcoBoost + Eurotrash was a good idea. Both would be more realistic and market-oriented.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the $30k figure is low and the 200 mile range is high unless it’s under perfect weather, load and terrain conditions.

Chevy also named a car the “Citation”, which is the award that a cop gives you after he pulls you over.

EXCEPT IT’S FRIGGING ENGLISH!!!

Seriously, you could sorta understand messing up the overseas market... but when Chevy hasn’t a clue about America...

Naw, man...

Bolt, like “bolt out of the blocks”

Like “a bolt of lightning”...a horse “bolts out of the gate”

Like that.....still a stupid name. But not clunky and slow.

Meanwhile, Toyota is set to release a fuel cell vehicle in the next year. Limited release, Ca only to start. Gonna be pushing leasing with all maintenance taken care of and under warranty the entire term.

Why do you have the need to beat a toaster on 4 wheels? I usually see some idiots try to “beat” me after a red light when I drive my Viper but I don’t bite as I know in reality I can smoke em’.

GM wants you to think lightning bolts. People will think lug-nuts.

My wife would think it was a measure of fabric.

That's just depressing. I am still looking for a late model car (1990s and newer) that has a straight (not split) bench front seat. That's the only way to get six in a sedan comfortably. I can't even find a site that can tell me how to retro fit a bench seat in a newer car, or if it can be done.

55K pricetag with maybe 100 miles under best conditions NOT in New York or similar Northeast states.

(Of course the speed limit is 80kph in most of Norway, so no performance vehicle really makes sense there)

Whaat? That's like 45 mph. Criminal!

Back in 1980, when those came out, my friend’s parents traded their low-mileage ‘69 Chevrolet Caprice Coupe (with a 300HP 350 V-8 engine) for a Citation. Whoops! My friend was justifiably very P.O.ed at his folks. That Caprice was Sweet!
