White students were discriminated against at Ryerson University because, ironically, they had never been discriminated against.
Two students tried to attend Ryerson’s Racialized Students’ Collective on March 11. However, when Trevor Hewitt and Julia Knope tried to enter, they were told they were “not victims of racialization,” and were thus barred from entering.
The judgement was apparently made based solely on the color of Hewitt’s and Knope’s skin.
“It felt really bad… kind of embarrassing,” Knope told the campus paper. “If their goal in these meetings was to end racialization then it needs to be something everybody is involved in. If some people are causing the problems, they need to know. Grouping yourself off… is not going to accomplish anything.”
The group that held the event, the Racialized Students’ Collective, claims it “oppose(s) all forms of racism and works toward community wellness for students.”

White pride and white interest groups are needed and long overdue. It’s sad that that this is now true, but in the face of government and media support of every other imaginable group claiming or implying (white male) oppression, a white caucus is called for.
Is that special or what.
It’s okay, now they’re qualified to go to the next meeting, because they were racially persecuted from this one and can therefore claim proof of victimized status.

Back in my days at Fresno State the “african American” club raised holy hell when a naturalized South African White tried to join and run for club president. Only black students who have never stepped foot on African soil from families that have been Americans for generations qualified as “African American.” At least the school wasn’t totally hyprcritical. They did have the “Black student union” that was specifically for black students but did have white members. I imagine the “black” has been remove for the ubiquitous and non sensical “African American.” Of all my black friends roughly my age (40) not one of them says “African American.”
Did this happen in Canada or the United States?
More need for a NAPCP, National Association for the Protection of Caucasian People, what with all the assaults.
