That’s one of the main points of the post — Slager’s report is deliberately being kept from us.

I have a problem with the “he was running away and thus not a danger to anyone”.

A) does that mean they can never return to do another crime or retry the same one?
B) does that mean no-one else gets hurt during any subsequent chase or apprehension?

The people in the neighborhood maybe? Or in the pawnshop nearby? Or the guy that filmed it? It’s not like they were in the middle of nowhere.

Do you think his report is evidence because of his statements on it?

You think he was charged with murder (by other cops) for nothing?

Didnt you claim to be a cop?

"I have a problem with the “he was running away and thus not a danger to anyone”.

Maybe because it's a ludicrous statement. If he's willing to shoot a cop, he wouldn't think twice about harming anyone else if it would aid him in fleeing the scene.

He shot someone in the back who was runningame away.

I don’t see where IChing is “excusing” Slager. He has pointed us to more information from a reputable website that has gathered more information to consider regarding the murder charge.

All I see IChing suggesting is that - If any of this evidence is presented in court, Officer Slager might not be found guilty as charged.

I do not know, at this point, but am not going to rush to any conclusion because we do not have enough information. The edited bystander video is not enough for me.

Or maybe the kids in the middle school half a mile away? Or the grandmother driving her car six blocks over? There was no threat to anyone.

still haven’t learned from the media manipulated “Skittles and Iced tea” non sense and the Mike Brown “hands up, don’t shoot” fairy tale, have you?. Wait til the whole story comes out, this cop will walk.

“...No, not for murder...”

I don’t really care what the charge is. They can church it up all they like. Slager is still a cop who betrayed the public trust by shooting a fleeing, unarmed man in the back who posed no credible, immediate threat to the officer or anyone else.

There were no videos of Martin and Brown being 30-odd feet away from Zimmerman or Wilson when they were shot, nor was Martin or Brown shot in the back. But really I'd say that you are the one who learned nothing from the Brown shooting. In that one there were witnesses who saw what happened and came to a conclusion that bore no relationship to what happened. In this case you watch the video and somehow conclude that Scott had it coming to him.

What “evidence”????

Slager was never tasered according to the reports by other officers and there is no mention of taser barbs being in Slager from any of the reports released.

It tells us we are close to mob rule when it comes to these types of incidents.

Or how about the guy with the video camera fifty yards away. Or the kids in the house just outside of the camera’s field of view. Or, it if were the lady six blocks over, what if he ran six blocks over?

There’s a reason the common law allowed cops to shoot fleeing felons. It’s because they are potentially dangerous to other people. SCOTUS has apparently narrowed the law but the basic principle is still there.

That’s why I said it should be at the officer’s discretion. I don’t know of any reason for an innocent person to flee when being questioned by a police officer. If they do, they made the decision themselves to put their life on the line. And absolutely there should be total compliance with the police. I think it is a great idea for officers to wear body cams.
I don’t know if Mr. Scott had any other legal issues besides being years delinquent on child support, but I would bet there is a rap sheet on him. He had to be afraid of something or he wouldn’t have run.

I looked at the close-ups at the Conservative Treehouse showing the taser wires apparently from Slager’s chest area, the wire apparently wrapped around Scott’s leg, with the cartridge being dragged behind him.

I also noticed on the map of the area that there are other witnesses we have not yet heard from. One of these was in position to see the bigger fight occurring at the entrance to the walkway. This one lasted longer, and happened before the video was taken.

There is still a lot that we do not know - what we, and both “sides” of the media, are concluding from that video is not the whole story. I will wait for “the rest of the story” before jumping in with the lynching party.

This is why we have courts and juries. Trial by mob isn’t a good idea.

'Not sure what to make of Slager’s moving the taser. Seems damning but I’m going to wait for more info.'

This part is confusing.

There was no incentive to move the 'taser'. At that point it was part of a crime scene. And if there was a tussles where the suspect had his hands on the taser, it would have potentially left fingerprints. By the officer moving the taser, he puts his fingerprints on them last, potentially covering up any evidence to the support. Or if he was going to move it, he simply could have used a handkerchief or similar cover to support his defense which would not have contaminated the taser surface.

All and all a odd part of the entire chain of events in total.
