On the first day we saw the North Charleston, South Carolina, shooting video of Walter Scott by Officer Michael Slager we were as shocked as everyone. However, as research now indicates there is much more to the story.

What we cover here in the latest update might just change the entire way the story continues…

I think the control rests squarely on the individual who makes the decision to flee. If the policy is clear, he knows he may be signing his own death certificate if he flees a police officer. Until we get serious about respecting our laws and those who put their lives on the line to enforce them, we are going to continue to see the crime rate soar.
I had some sympathy for Mr. Scott until I found out he assaulted the officer.

Not kidding at all. Make it clear what the outcome will be if you run from the police. In this case, this guy went from a traffic stop to a fleeing felon. Do I think someone is dangerous who just assaulted a police officer? Darn right I do.

The video clearly captured officer Slager dropping the taser alongside the body after the shooting. Regardless of what happened beforehand, that's planting evidence... and I'm pretty sure planting evidence is illegal:

That's a good trick...because from the time of the getting cuffed...well to the 9.58 mark..where scott is still lying face down.....NO ONE is administering CPR and that is where the video goes black for a few minutes then reverts back the slager patrol car footage.

If you “see” anyone doing chest compressions you need to have your eyes checked.

The only indication of chest compressions is a radio call at 10.03....and even if that is true....that was well over 5 minutes after the shooting.

I guess I need to remind you that the multiple reports specifically say that CPR was administered “immediately” and continued until EMS arrives. I suppose next you will question my lying eyes next.

Slager was charged by other cops...for nothing...as if the other cops would do that...

So slager is a good cop...and the rest are bad cops for charging him.

I don’t know of any reason for an innocent person to flee when being questioned by a police officer.

I think it's been established that Scott was behind in child support. There were no warrants out for him but Scott himself wouldn't have known that.

If they do, they made the decision themselves to put their life on the line.

Stop and think about that. Are you honestly saying that any person fleeing from the police should be shot, simply because they were fleeing?

And absolutely there should be total compliance with the police.

So in your opinion Cliven Bundy should have surrendered to the federal authorities and not held out on his ranch?

I don’t know if Mr. Scott had any other legal issues besides being years delinquent on child support, but I would bet there is a rap sheet on him.

There’s a reason the common law allowed cops to shoot fleeing felons.

There is a reason why the Supreme Court has ruled that the police may shoot fleeing suspects only if they are representing a threat to the life and safety of the officer or of bystanders. It's because police do not have the power to be judge, jury, and executioner for anyone they choose. There was no justification for shooting Scott. Zero. Zilch. Nada. The reason why he is dead is because he ran into someone who was trigger happy and likely should not have been a police officer to begin with.

Its not a stun gun... that just a defensive weapon...

Its a police taser... an offensive weapon.. to take down dangerous suspects and subdue..hopefully non lethal...it fires darts at range and once you have darts in you.. it will send shock to drop you ever time the trigger is pulled.... there are some supposedly even have multiple shots.. bit do not know detail on the weapon.. but the cop knew im sure

need more detail on what this police taser is capable of....im sure the cop knew what could be done with that weapons.. so let find out detail on what that is and if it was reasonable to fear..

but yes if you try to incapacitated a cop then their reason to fear that youre going to take the gun and use it on them... so was that still a possibility?... .

You are no doubt confused about where you sit on the political spectrum: you are obviously a totlitarian, one who embraces government rule with total power over unwilling subjects, up to and including the power of life and death for even the smallest infractions, like daring to turn your back and flee from an agent of the State.

Conservatives, on the other hand, are people who embrace small government, minimal taxes, and maximum independence of individual action.

Regardless of what happened prior to the shooting, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to "plant", or move evidence at a crime scene. Sure looks like "evidence planting" to me, when officer Slager threw his taser down alongside the body:

Prior to fleeing the vehicle, he called him mom, to prepare them to pick him up at jail, because he knew he was wanted for child support and traveled side roads to avoid the police.

Since 2013, he had a warrant out for his arrest.
