Fox News president Roger Ailes thinks Ted Cruz could become the Republican nominee. But he doesn't appear to think much of him.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Ailes was asked whether he thought Cruz could win the the GOP nomination. His answer: Sure, it could happen. Because just about anybody could win, right?
"Listen, we elected Warren G. Harding. Anybody has a chance," Ailes said. "You don't know who you're going to be running against. If the other guy falls on his rear end, you could win."
Harding -- ouch.
For those of us who haven't taken an American history class in a while, Harding looked the part of a president, but today is "considered one of the country's worst presidents," as Time said. He was president from 1921-1923, and his short administration was plagued by scandal and he died in office of a heart attack. Not exactly the example you want to follow -- apart from the whole becoming-president part.
So, yes, if Jeb Bush is caught on camera with his own "47 percent" remark and Scott Walker has an embarrassing photo of himself taken riding around in a tank and Marco Rubio does a weird yelp at a campaign event that goes viral and every other Republican candidate does something to "fall on their rear," as Ailes would say, Cruz could just as easily win the Republican nomination....

Harding resolved an economic crisis inherited from Wilson in almost record time by doing something revolutionary: cutting taxes and spending (government). It works every time. I’d take Harding in a heartbeat today.
Zactly my points as to why Roger is deficient.
My money and my vote go to Cruz.

I knew there was censorship of mention of Cruz over at Fox News when Laura Ingrahm rattled off the names of Republican candidates and OMITTED TED CRUZ. Darn, I REALLY liked that woman, too!
When all the rino candidates lose, I would love to see Fox News go down with them.
” Listen, we elected Warren G. Harding. Anybody has a chance,”
More astounding still we elected Obama - TWICE.
FURAHOLE
I believe that Mr Ailes is predicating his words on the theory that Mr Cruz is unelectable. I disagree as I (and most of us here on FR) don’t listen to the likes of Karl Rove and the elitist hierarchy of the Republican Party. Or perhaps we listen but unlike Mr Ailes, we reject the candidates and their theories of Democratic appeasement as the golden road to the White House.
Bingo!
Been using the "mute" more and more on Faux news.
And we don’t think much of Roger Ailes, as he tries to push another losing moderate Republican to the nomination. He may be a Democrat operative, for. All we know.
There is a media blackout brewing on Cruz, I suspect FOX will participate.
Such things only make Cruz stronger, in other words We Don’t Need No Stinking Media.
A memo to all GOP presidential candidates not named Ted Cruz

Precisely! The economic damage done by Wilson was the worst downturn panic in the countries history, yet it was short and quick due to the actions taken by Harding that he would have been reelected in a landslide, just like his VP was after Harding died.
Harding and Coolidge where the original Supply-Siders and they where terrific presidents.
Wasn’t he a Nixon operative?
Arm pit is more like it.
Cruzactly
I remember how excited Megyn Kelly was when 0bama won again in 2012.. All she could think was “OH BOY THAT’LL MEAN LOTS OF NEW MATERIAL FOR FOX NEWS!”
And GirlyRino
The three Amigos Rinos
“The establishment, AND THE RAT ENEMY, are concerned about Cruz, which is all the reason anyone needs to vote for him!!!
