The latest dispatch from the United Kingdom’s ongoing campaign to eliminate all forms of armed self-defense seems too incredible to be true. Unfortunately, after tracking down the origin of a publicly distributed statement regarding self-defense products on the country’s “Ask the Police” website, we can confirm that British subjects continue to live at the mercy of their potential attackers. Even to the point of baffling absurdity.
The statement appears in the Frequently Asked Questions section of www.askthe.police.uk – a site that is operated by the Police National Legal Database. Information provided by the PNLD and its site are used by local police constabularies to help inform the public.
The question at issue asks, “Are there any legal self defence products that I can buy?” Succinctly epitomizing the sad state of natural rights in Great Britain, the first sentence states, “The only fully legal self defence product at the moment is a rape alarm.”
And to add even more insult to human dignity, the statement cautions subjects against the use of nearly any other type of defense product, and reads like an appeal for victims to graciously suffer criminal violence. The answer makes clear “You must not get a product which is made or adapted to cause a person injury. Possession of such a product in public (and in private in specific circumstances) is against the law.” So even in the sanctity of one’s home, the statement seems to suggest that care for violent offenders outweighs the rights of potential victims to be safe and secure against attack.
The statement then addresses the legality of inert dye sprays that merely mark one’s attacker for later identification; in contrast to self-defense sprays like mace or pepper spray that inflict pain in order to halt an attack. The site is so concerned with the well-being of violent criminals, that in the context of dye sprays, it states,“be aware that even a seemingly safe product, deliberately aimed and sprayed in someone's eyes, would become an offensive weapon because it would be used in a way that was intended to cause injury.”
Whether it’s this detestable advice, police warning a woman not to display a knife in order to ward off intruders, warrantless firearm storage inspections, or desperate subjects being forced to defend their lives and property with cricket and baseball bats during riots, the UK government appears intent on wiping out any remaining vestiges of the traditional right to self-defense. We’d like to say that we won’t allow ourselves to be shocked by the next ludicrous episode from across the pond, but history shows they’ll somehow manage to astound.

The only royal there with any backbone is Prince Harry. I really think the last hope for England would be for Harry to become king, and then shake things up, boldly and big-time.
But of course that will never happen. Harry is fifth in line for the throne. Some day Charles will become king. To show his progressiveness, he will probably disarm his bodyguards, then have his coronation in a mosque.

I was thinking about various personal protection methods the other day and was wondering if a product exists that is essentially a miniature body cam but it’s constantly streaming live images as opposed to being stored on your person…. which is the way I think that cop body cams work. http://bodycameras.com/ If this was available, I would think that it would put a serious dent in a lot of muggings, knockout games etc etc etc.

Whether wood or metal, due to its shape the baseball bat is much better suited to use as a melee weapon than the cricket bat. Football bats, of course, are completely useless ...
These are police in the UK, this is their recommendation. Mine? Ladies, fight with all you have. Make sure they know no means no. Don’t be squeamish, because there is a solid chance your assailant won’t be, either. If you have something to dangle off your trailer hitch when you’re done and one is crushed, so much the better.
If you want your Englishmen you can keep them, you have Obama's word on it.
Just don't let them wander over to GA. We have more than enough gun-grabbing voters moving here from weird places like CA, NJ, MA, etc, as it is now. We don't need any English gun-grabbers to make it worse.
Question: If it were Black or Muslim girls getting raped by white men, would the UK Police be showing such amazing restraint?

So you can summon others to do what exactly? If you cannot harm your attacker, why is someone else allowed to?
The problem here is that you are thinking like a normal, rational person.
Most muggers (and probably all knockout game folks) are unthinking and irrational. They don't think anything through. If the opportunity presents itself, and they feel like doing the crime, they'll just do it.
Cameras, a police station around the block, none of that matters much.
Maybe a thousand years of sharia law will make the brit’s testicles finally descend.
Maybe the soccer thugs will become heroes in Britain if the muzzies keep at it.
It's called out of control liberalism. Not only do they not allow people to defend themselves, they throw you in prison for speaking the truth. Britain's laws against "hate speech" are far more onerous than here.
However, take heart, if American libs have their way, we'll be just like Britain 'ere long.
It isn’t baffling at all. Leftist fear most, people who Know when to fight and who WILL do so when the situation arises.
I would have to disagree with you. I keep my late wife's son's cricket bat in my office at work (as they won't allow me to bring firearms or machetes on Fort Hood) because I believe that I can inflict more immediate damage by using the edge part of the cricket bat. To my mind, even though the edge isn't sharp, it will still have an added "chopping" effect the blow.
That is nothing new. Liberals in the United States have been saying the same thing for decades. In fact, they even say that you need to understand why he/ she kills, robs, or rapes you.
