FREE TRADE

Free trade is a vital policy necessary for maximizi ng economic growth. In recent decades, America’s commitment to expanding trade has resulted in lower costs for consumers, job growth, and higher levels of productivity and innovation.

Rick Perry has a long record of public statements in support of free trade. “NAFTA is the largest job stimulus packet to come along this decade,”

These big trade agreements benefit the weakest link to the detriment of the strongest. It never changes.

Rick was a democrat years ago and switched parties when he say the Reagan revolution taking place and democrats who have run Texas for a century were being ousted left and right.

That’s a valid question. I’m not an economist, and unprejudiced explanations are hard to come by. Major bills, like NAFTA, generate complex responses - from businesses, unions and politicians.

I think the best consideration I’ve seen is in Investopedia. The link is

“when factories move abroad, many middle class jobs go with them.”

For-profit business exist to maximize wealth for their shareholders. In fact, that is their ONLY reason for existence. If not, become a non-profit.

For-profit businesses aren’t anymore obligated to provide “jobs” than you are obligated to provide job for your local plumber. If those “middle class” people are so reliant on a business, perhaps it is time they re-think their career strategy. It sounds harsh, but there is no need for typists, telephone operators, and a host of other outdated formerly-middle class “jobs”. Either machines have replaced or are replacing them, or cheap 3rd-world drones will.

Expenses need to be lowered (and revenues need to be increased) for any business to remain profitable. That is business 101. You can’t fault businesses for trying things to lower their expenses. What will you be complaining next — the designer shoes are too expensive for the “middle class” to afford?

I make a living by investing in stocks. So of course I know how corporations operate. I have been in the stock market for 53 years. I understand corporations better than anyone on this board. But I do not live in a vacuum. My life is surrounded by relatives and friends. I care for all of them. Most of them are in the “middle class”.

Since I am not so selfish as to only worry about myself, it is my duty to make every voter aware of how their jobs will be affected by the votes of politicians such as senator Cruz and senator Rubio, who must obey their rich donors. The rich donors are usually large share holders in corporations, and as you point out, their job is to maximize profits for the shareholders.

I’m sure your “middle class” relatives and friends are also invested in stocks of these evil companies, either directly or through their 401K. So, they are also profiting from these evil corporate off-shoring of jobs.

Hi, guys.

It was my understanding that it’s customary when you’re discussing another FReeper that you at least ping them to your comments.

Maybe you’re too new to know this. Or maybe you’re seasoned enough to know it, but just ignored it. Or maybe you just “forgot”.

Whatever it is, as you giggle behind your hands at someone who holds a different opinion than you do, I’d suggest something:

How about trying to understand what they’re saying rather than falling into the 7th grade level of giggling about the words?

Really? You didn’t understand that I was commenting on Perry’s level of being a “man” versus what we have in the WH now?

Maybe you ought to check in with your doc and see if they have something that’ll reduce your obtuse levels.

You’re juvenile and ridiculous in this instance.

I’m done.

Now you can go back to your sandbox and point and giggle behind your hands at those who hold different opinions than you do.

It’s got to make you feel terrific and all grown up and special and included to know there are other juveniles who’ll giggle with you.

Geez.

No, we can laugh at you w/o engaging you. If we wanted to engage you we would have pinged you. Your post wherein you made a fool of yourself by fawning over Perry's chest hair is still worthy of many laughs. We'll ping you when we need more.

Carry on.

That’s what I thought.

You knew the custom and decided to ignore it.

Obtuse, thy name is South40.

Joke and irrelevant.

It’s not even worth reading your posts any longer.

God bless.

No, the custom is if we mention you, not refer to you. I never mentioned your moronic name. Did I?

Bedsides, you've rendered yourself a punchline. Why would you want to be pinged to a thread just to be made fun of? I don't get that.

s4...

I’ll make this easy for you.

I’m guessing it’s difficult dealing with fully developed adults, so maybe you could ask your teacher or your helper or whatever you call those who help those with less on the ball than normal folks.

I’m not going to engage with you anymore. I don’t know enough small words and can’t talk that slow long enough to get through to you.

Do your best to keep up with those of us who have developed our communication skills. I’m sure you’ll do fine, eventually. These days, it seems like they’ll let you play in any playground you “identify” yourself with.

It’s probably not your fault. You were probably born the way you are...or had some horrible accident.

You know as well as I do that I wasn’t talking about Perry’s chest or his shoulders. You dumbass.

You know as well as I do that I was talking about having a man in the White House, rather than what we have.

You just don’t like Perry. And then you’ve got to get with some like-minded fool and giggle at the guy who doesn’t think like you. Got it. Geez. How hard are YOU to figure out?

But everything isn’t as inane and stupid as it appears to be in your world.

Go play with the kids! Hey, nothing wrong with that. You just need to recognize your limitations.

Chasaway, out.

"Fully developed adults" don't consider chest hair a factor in choosing their political leaders. Yet you not only did, you put it in writing. And that says screams! you are an intellectually challenged moron.

Have a nice day and, thanks for the laughs!

Perrybots are a strange breed, Bobby. I wonder does this one realizes her hero continues to poll lower than the other clown in the race, Donald Trump.
