Every day Trump takes another unapologetic stand on an issue that resonates with a segment of society.
They are so astonished to see someone saying what they think needs saying that they are thereafter willing to overlook his faults in other areas.
Thus is he building a large base of supporters. It’s a snowball effect... if he can keep it up he will become unstoppable.

Donald Trump is the Ross Perot of 2016. Very plain-spoken, talking straight to the heart of the spending and debt problems we faced as we muddled through ‘91 and ‘92 with Bush 41 breaking his tax pledge and the economy was recessed. It appears Perot, besides being eccentric, got the willies when he realized people were getting real serious about his campaign. I don’t think he ever wanted to be president and purposely imploded his candidacy.
In Trump’s case, I am not convinced by a long-shot yet that he wants to really be president, either. However, as was Perot, he appeals to our national pride and if he plays it as he think he intends, he will carry a lot of powerful support behind him. I believe Trump is in it to be the kingmaker, and anybody who wants to “buy him out” of the campaign had better be prepared to adopt his strong stance on Mexico, China, and America-first trade policies. These are all critical issues and he hits them all out of the park. For all the showmanship, he is helping and not hurting the GOP race for the nomination.
Ted Cruz is on Fox and Friends right now and they are asking him what he thinks about what Trump said about the border and what is going on. He said NBC is being too PC and he credits Trump with being honest. They asked if it is mostly drug dealers and rapists crossing the border and Cruz said “not mostly, but there are some.” Cruz admitted we do have a border problem.
